Reviews for Duxton Hotel Perth

We recently had the pleasure of photographing a Chinese New Year event at Duxton Hotel, and we couldn’t have asked for a better venue! The newly refurbished ballroom is stunning—great LED lighting, HD screens, and a sleek modern vibe. The staff are absolute pros, making the event run smoothly. If you want a venue that’s classy, seamless, and looks amazing in photos, this is it!

This hotel offers quiet and comfortable accommodation in a prime location, making it an excellent choice for exploring Perth’s most iconic attractions. Although the room was on the smaller side, it was thoughtfully designed to maximize functionality, and the bed provided a good level of comfort for a restful night’s sleep. That said, the room’s finishes and materials were not quite up to the standard I had anticipated, which was a minor disappointment. The standout feature of this hotel, however, is its staff. They maintain impeccable cleanliness throughout the property and are always friendly and attentive, ensuring that guests feel welcome and well cared for. Every team member I encountered demonstrated an impressive work ethic and genuine commitment to making my stay as enjoyable as possible. Despite some minor shortcomings, the quality of service and the hotel’s excellent location make it a solid choice for a visit to Perth.

Overall a disappointing stay at the Duxton. Our room was large, bright and lovely. A little disappointing to receive a welcome note addressed to another guest though FOH staff were mostly very good. We were confused by the lobby bar staff telling us that 'loaded fries; were unavailable at 6pm in the evening of our last night, only to return to our group a half hour later to tell us they were now available. Later that evening is when more issues arose. At 9pm we attempted to enter the restaurant (open til 10pm) and were told they were closed for the evening and to order in the bar. We decided instead that as the menus were the same, we would order room service and eat in our room while enjoying a bottle of wine purchased when out and about. We attempted to order room service at the front desk and were told we had to use the QR code in our room. After returning to our room we attempted to use the QR code, but the evening menu was unavailable. We rang through to 'in room dining' to order our food manually and requested some extra wine glasses. When our food came, meals were tiny and food quality was below average. Our $35 burgers resembled sliders and the fish and ships was slimy and soggy. When we contacted the hotel with our complaints, we were told too bad and not refunds would be applied, without any investigation into what or why we were complaining. I would welcome contact form the hotel to discuss the issues and ensure future future customers don't encounter similar issues.

I stayed at the Duxton for the first time on the weekend and the staff where very lovely and very welcoming and more so the gentlemen who did our parking for us, he was just lovely. The check in check out staff where polite but that was it. The rooms are very outdated. The bed was comfortable but that's about it with the room. The shower has mould around the trim which I get ever shower gets that, but when it gets bad it should be cut out and resealed, the toilet is so low to the ground and so small it felt like I put my back out from falling so low and would fall off if I moved the wrong way. The TV remotes also need to be replaced it didnt work at all which was a bummer as I was just hoping to relax and watch some TV. The lady who brought our room service was just lovely she was so sweet, which is always a bonus. The food was nice, the Lettuce on my club sandwich was a bit brown but I just took it out, but apart from that it was nice. Now the parking $65 per night?? What on earth, that price is more then you pay in the CBD and yes I understand someone park's the car but then that's it and it is on the Duxton property so it's not as if you need to go far for it. I sadly don't think I will stay there again, I think i will stick to Aloft or Four Season by Sheraton.

The stay at Duxton was good, however it is not upto a 5 star hotel standard. The beds were comfy and we had plenty of spaces to place our belongings. The location was good as well and we even have a nice view. However, the hygiene standard was average, there was molds in the shower and dust and hair in the bathtub. The window was pretty dirty as well. Along with that, considering the price we are paying to stay at Duxton, you would expect basic amenities. They provided some of the things but they did not have bath robs, slippers, toothbrush and toothpaste. We also had technical issues at midnight where everyone was locked out of the hotel. But the staff came up and solve the issues, they were pretty nice. Overall, the stay at Duxton was good but not really 5 star hotel standard, it should be 4 stared.
