Close to public transport and major attractions. Efficient check-in, fast and friendly concierge staff. The room was spacious, and the bed area came with a microwave (loved it!). I really appreciated all the amenities—shampoo, soap, etc.—great choices. Good job!

Absolutely unappealing, unexciting and unadventfull. Nothing exceptional or unique or anything over the top that screams customer service or value. Infact, slim pickings- literally exactly enough just to tick the boxes and not a penny more?? 2 sugar packets, 2 coffee, 2 mugs, 2 spoons, 1 milk, 1 set of towels, 1 spare blanket.... Night menu looked unbelievably unappealing and I was put off ordering room service at all thinking the servo down the road properly has better value for money and tastier pies just by the looks of the menu. For the $600 per night price tag I expected to find more than a wooden Dilmah tea holder stashed in the top cupboard too strike my fancy or commemorate my stay at this hotel. Not even so much as a pen or notepad and business card holder on the desk. The magazine on the table, though, has a price tag clearly attached to it and for a second my mind would wonder if they'd even try charge you that price just too read it if they could. I'd take a better picture of the view but the windows are quite dirty and dusty. As are the insides of the window sills, the outer building around it and looking down at the dead rooftop garden ontop of the walkway too the other tower put the final nail in that coffin. Surprisingly the window actually still opens a fraction though, just incase one wasn't a fan of that familiar sterile but common old and dusty hotel fragrance...

When Check In the staff were so friendly and I agree to get recommendations join as member. He gave me a vouchers for a drinks. That day around 7.30 I was find out my train ticket was wrong direction, try to fix my problem with staff TransWA that I know back home in Kalgoorlie. That make me so stress and we go out for dinner late. Bar and restaurant close. After back from dinner around 10pm cause we walk to northbridge area so we can't get the drinks, talk to front desk lady about my situation that I could be stayed 1 more night cause what the discussion with my friend is in the morning come to East Perth and hoping there's a cancellation so we can get that seat if Not get it I need to go back to room until 10 am when the time for Check out, but still I left my cards key room to front desk while we try our luck early morning. She said explain it like that to morning staff and I asked her to gave me ice cause I get bite by bug ( she went to bar and gave it to me ) even the bar close. In the morning before 7 I'm explain to morning staff my situation and I said If I don't get seat at train I be back for couple our and plan what to do. But when I get the seat I called mercure and check out the room. I explain about I could and wish get seat so We can go back to Kalgoorlie. I politely gave her the vouchers and ask for drinks likes bottles of water or can of coke that we can take it to train station ( the response of her is over that site there a water fountain for water, but then I said I want the water bottles so I can take and go. She said sorry the bar not open yet u can wait until 7am while by that time the train will be on board) moral of these story is why so hard and stiff to help me in that stress situation. In your room there's no complimentary bottles of water. We was stayed at holiday Inn for 3 night we get complimentary bottles water in our room and kids get so much benefit likes free donuts from krispycreme and free dinner at their restaurant. In the future I will rather choose holiday inn to stay over mercure specially when winter season, I was choose to move cause of kids want swimming pool. Best regards Weny Ng

Service was friendly and helpful. Cafe attached was really lovely for a late breakfast as we slept in and missed the buffet. It’s in a good location to shops and restaurants. However, there was mold on carpet where it was against the bathroom wall. The carpets in the hallways were super stained and gross as well. All the skirting boards were chipped. Really needs a good renovation. Asked for a cot in room and request was approved but wasn’t one in our room on arrival - luckily our daughter didn’t come stay the night after all, so we didn’t need it. If our daughter was with us, the pool was not kid friendly as no shallow end and limited shade. Probably will not stay again.

We visited this weekend for two nights. Check-in was quick, but we were told the bare minimum which was our room number and breakfast time and which lift to use. We were not told the location of the pool or gym, or the floor number of our room (We figured 5 as our room started with 5, but you never know!). When we got to our room, I was very taken aback. There were stains on the carpet, two of the lamp lights needed to be adjusted to turn on (one loose globe, and one unplugged at the powerpoint). The curtains were stained. The bathroom shower head had several blocked holes, the exhaust fan was half an inch out of the roof on one side, and the old metal Kleenex box was still attached to the bathroom bench, rusted and half falling out. We had read some negative reviews regarding the breakfast, but we found the buffet to be quite nice with a lot of variety. The location was only a few minutes walk to Hay Street mall and a few nice places to eat. More restaurants were further into the city and are walkable, but it would easily be a 15-20 minute walk one-way. For over $650, we expected our room to be in far better condition than it was. And although there were no rude staff members, they were all pleasant, we expected far more attentive customer service for a 4-star hotel on check-in and departure.
