Visited Hotel Realm for the Women's T20 Cricket match, great location within 10 minutes walk of Manuka Oval. Have stayed at Realm many times but a few dissapointments this time. Our room was at the back of the hotel facing Burbury Hotel. (To assist it was Room 327) * Construction noise - there is a large site opposite which starts at 6:30am and only at excavation stage, so at a guess there's 12 months to go. This also brings large trucks past both sides of the hotel. The noise was ricocheting off Burbury Hotel so it sounded like it was outside our room. * Noise in Burbury Close - this roadway gets more traffic than National Circuit! It provides entry to the carpark and loading dock. Our room was above (or close to) the loading dock, so we heard all the deliveries arriving - truck reversing sounds, industrial bins being emptied, etc. * Bed and room service - they've gone with no fitted sheets so the bottom sheet didn't stay in place and the top sheets (with quilt in between) was bunched up at foot of the bed. It's always been better than this. What was good were the restaurants (you MUST book for any before you arrive as the locals love them and on weekends there are often wedding groups). Staff were very polite and informative and big shout out for Chloe who checked us in on arrival.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Executive-level service with exceptional attention to detail and genuine care Our experience at Hotel Realm exemplifies what true luxury hospitality should be — intelligent, anticipatory, and deeply human. From the outset, Ash at reception set an exceptional standard. Ash’s professionalism, composure, and genuine attentiveness were outstanding, with every interaction handled seamlessly and with warmth. This was not transactional service, but thoughtful, intuitive care delivered at an executive level. Ash is clearly a leader and a defining presence within the hotel’s front-of-house team. What truly elevated our stay were the extraordinary personal touches. The team thoughtfully set up a beautiful little tent and activities for our two children (aged 3 and 7) — a gesture that was both unexpected and deeply appreciated. These details did not feel scripted; they felt sincere, considered, and generous, and they made our children feel genuinely welcomed. Adam and the wider reception team were equally polished and attentive, reinforcing a culture where nothing is ever an issue and assistance is offered with ease and kindness. This ethos extended throughout the hotel — the housekeeping staff were unfailingly kind, respectful, and considerate, with special touches carefully noticed and the room maintained to an impeccable standard. The room itself was beautifully appointed, immaculate, and extremely comfortable. Dining was equally refined — excellent food paired with attentive, discreet service that aligns perfectly with a luxury environment. Hotel Realm delivers hospitality at a truly executive standard. Senior management should be immensely proud of Ash and the entire team. This is the kind of service that builds trust, loyalty, and reputation — and sets Hotel Realm apart as a leader in luxury accommodation in Canberra. We would absolutely return and highly recommend this hotel without hesitation.

Hotel Realm is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at in Australia. The hospitality was excellent, and the rooms were immaculate. We were welcomed with complimentary desserts and drinks on arrival, which was a lovely touch. The surroundings are absolutely clean and well maintained. The hotel is conveniently located close to public facilities, within walking distance to Parliament House, and only a 15-minute drive to other major attractions. It’s also very close to the National Gallery. Breakfast was included in the stay and exceeded our expectations—definitely more value for money compared to other hotels at a similar price point. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Canberra.

Super friendly staff who are always happy to do anything they can to assist (speaking from my experience of 50+ stays). The Realm Suites are a very generous size and have a balcony, separate lounge and bedroom, and a small kitchenette and laundry. There aren’t many in-room amenities but if you call housekeeping they’ll bring you essentials like toothbrushes, razors, etc. The room service menu is ok, but limited when it comes to children’s meals. The location is pretty convenient and there’s plenty of free parking. It’s also within 15 minutes easy (flat) walk to attractions like Old Parliament House, National Gallery, the lake, and shops/restaurants etc at Manuka and Kingston. It’s not the finest hotel in the world, but in Canberra it’s one of the best.

Stayed here for a single night recently with my son, overall the stay was pleasant and front desk team were very nice, helpful and attentive. However I believe I was charged $36 for a glass of wine through room service and I’m awaiting the invoice that was supposed to be sent to me upon checkout, I have emailed with no response as I would like some clarification on the cost. The fridge in the room was broken, dirty and leaking water. The porta cot had holes and stains all over it, there wasn’t much padding in the bottom of it so you could feel the bars on the bottom, from the description I was under the impression it would be a wooden cot, if I had of known I would have brought my own porta cot. The room had places it wasn’t clean, mirrors and tables were dirty and not up to standard of a 5 star hotel. I would love to make a suggestion for safety regarding young children, potentially having latches up high on balcony and front room doors would be a good option for parents travelling solo, I know I would have appreciated that during my stay. Breakfast was a let down, I was told it opens at 6:30 which I arrived at 6:50 and most of the hot food wasn’t ready. The hotel is central to most things which is a plus. Overall decent stay, don’t think it was worth the cost for on night, i will be travelling to Canberra frequently over the next few months and I don’t think I’ll rebook here. I’d appreciate the invoice sent to me if possible please, would love some clarification on the charges.
