My husband and I celebrated our wedding by having dinner with a small gathering of friends and family at the Hyatt Hotel in Canberra. The food at the Promenade Cafe was exceptional—absolutely delicious—and we were all so impressed. The ambiance was warm and elegant, with breathtaking Art Deco-inspired decor. The gardens in spring were particularly charming and picturesque. Most importantly, the staff was incredibly accommodating, contributing significantly to our memorable experience. Sonam and Sam in particular were a pleasure to work with; they made us feel welcomed and well taken care of by attentively addressing every detail. The entire team made us feel truly special during our visit. and we look forward to returning in the future. A truly outstanding establishment.
The Hyatt Hotel Canberra – A Park Hyatt Hotel is easily the best place to stay in Canberra. The interior and decor are elegant and the architecture gives the whole property a distinctive charm. Service throughout the stay was excellent. Very professional staff, friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast and dinner were both delicious, with plenty of variety and quality ingredients. Rooms are comfortable and well maintained and the overall atmosphere is calm and refined. It’s clear the hotel takes pride in both presentation and service. A genuinely enjoyable experience from start to finish. Highly recommended staying here.
Cons: Bar fridge is extremely small and there is no freezer for ice or ice creams. Breakfast variety is low and quality isn't up to standard. Was expecting a wider range of toiletries. Toilet paper was low ply. Staff didn't point out the facilities E.g. Location to Clubhouse. Only 2x EV chargers of which only 1 was working Rooms are a little dated No remote control for air conditioning. You can hear the plumbing and air conditioning hum from neighbouring rooms. No safe space for kettles. It just sits on the TV unit. Pool is a little small. Pod coffee machine was a little budget. Pros: Rooms are a decent size and clean. Good housekeeping service. Foyer area is nice. Good availability of public parking. Free internet. Can stream to TV. Nice large marble bathroom with tub. 3/5 star rating for me.
Went to a function at the Hyatt yesterday as part of Writers Festival. I ordered a gluten free high tea (when I booked my tix) & I expected it to be served when everyone else received their meal. This was not the case - I had to ask 3 times for the gluten free meal. I was very disappointed with the service & had a higher expectation from a 5 star hotel.
Room: Menzies Suite Occasion: Wedding The team at the Hyatt Canberra was great and accommodating. A special shout out to Rowena who was a communicative and friendly point of contact during our wedding day. We got our room prepared far in advance, with some lovely compliments. The venue is spectacular with some very photogenic locations. We (and our family) had a wonderful time here. Hope to stay here again.
