Good hotel with lot of facilities..it’s an old government building (prime ministers residence or something ) which they converted in to a nice hotel . It might get bit too busy during some times of the year and it is good to avoid this one during busy period..I got downgraded because the rooms were full. As a side note - I was told that there is a tunnel from cbd to the hotel - not sure if it’s right..make sure you are trying it when you visit..I will try it next time.. Anyway, first experience was good and will visit again..
My recent stay at the Hyatt Hotel Canberra had both positives and negatives. The rooms were clean, well-presented, and met my expectations in terms of comfort and aesthetics. The location is excellent, with close proximity to attractions like Questacon, making it convenient for exploring the area. My kids absolutely loved the pool and the 24-hour spa in the clubhouse, which was a fantastic feature and added to our overall experience. However, the service did not meet the standard I anticipated. Upon arrival, we got lost trying to locate our room as there was no map or clear directions provided. Although a staff member eventually came to guide us after we called for assistance, this initial confusion could have been avoided with better instructions. Another issue was the delay in getting milk for the bar fridge. I initially requested it with the checkin officer and while I was told it would be delivered, it never arrived. I had to call again next morning when I needed it to make coffee, and only then was it brought to the room. Overall, while the hotel offers a clean and well-located stay, along with great facilities for families, the service could use significant improvements to match the high expectations one would have for a Hyatt property.
Check in very smooth. Hotel superb. King deluxe room is an excellent choice for 2 people. Room quiet, bed very comfortable. Room service first rate: waiter extremely courteous; food delivered promptly; good quality and quantity. Electronic check out is very simple. It is a great place to stay, and we will return next time in Canberra.
Service was great and is well located hotel. Unfortunately I had a few issues with the room. Room wasn't ventilated properly so air was stale. Plumbing for the shower in the room adjacent was loud enough to wake me up. But the main issue was the toilet hadn't been flushed properly after either the previous tenant or cleaner used it. Not a pleasant thing to see and not up to the claimed 5 star standard. I did provide feedback to the hotel but did not hear back so thought I'd leave the feedback here.
I stayed here on NYE with the family to see in 2025. The decor is beautiful, however the place smells musky. The stay was underwhelming for my wife and I. I had to request some items in the main room and bathroom to be cleaned. I won't be rushing to come here again.
