Gavroche Restaurant is truly a hidden gem! The moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by an amazing and magical ambiance that instantly transports you to a Parisian escape. The atmosphere is warm, elegant, and full of character – perfect for a romantic evening or a special celebration. The staff are attentive and welcoming, making the whole experience even more delightful. Combined with beautifully presented dishes full of authentic flavor, dining here feels nothing short of enchanting. Gavroche is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere transported us straight to Paris — warm lighting, elegant décor, and a buzzing yet intimate vibe. The service was outstanding: attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling rushed. The food was nothing short of exceptional. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with authentic French flavours. The ingredients were fresh and high-quality, and the balance of richness and finesse in the cooking was spot on. Whether it was the classic mains, indulgent sides, or perfectly crafted desserts, everything felt carefully considered and executed with love. Gavroche has been in Kensington lane for years and while it delivers good food, it does not hit the wow factor. Went in after a few years today. Duck Live Pate was small and too gamey. Steak was fine but needs a side to be added to fill up. Best of main dish was the Moreton Bay Bug. Service was good. Will we go again? May be in a couple of years.

We recently had the journey menu and had a wonderful time. Service was great, they greeted us at the door quickly. We really enjoyed the mussels and most of the courses. We found the onion soup and steak frites a little bit too salty. My partners’ scallop tasted a bit off but mine was fine. It was fun to have the dessert cart pushed to us and I appreciate watching the server toast the sugar on the creme brûlée. It can get very loud inside when full but overall it was a great experience.

Nice low key bistro vibes with friendly service and excellent food…. Did the set menu, beautiful plump oyster, scallop, delectable French onion soup and the steak was perfectly cooked. Dessert buffet was also amazing but we were so full by the time we came to dessert. Their chocolate mouse is like a fluffy chocolate cloud. Definitely a keeper.
