We recently stayed at Spicers Guest House while attending a close friend’s mid-week wedding—and what a beautiful experience it was. We stayed two nights in an extremely comfortable room with a lovely outlook, making it the perfect base for a special occasion. Breakfast was included, and we both went with the eggs Benedict on both mornings. I can honestly say it was the best eggs Benedict I’ve ever had—everything was cooked to perfection, and the house-made hollandaise sauce was next level. I’d come back just for the breakfast next time I’m in the area. On one of the nights, we enjoyed a few drinks at the bar before heading out. There’s a beautiful fireplace inside and a fire pit outside, which really adds to the relaxed, welcoming vibe. And of course, as expected, they offer a great selection of wines. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would definitely return on future visits to the Hunter
Beautiful location and facilities, my partner and I enjoyed our peaceful 2 night stay with a delicious breakfast each morning. Slicers Guesthouse is perfectly surrounded by gorgeous views of the hunter valley, the pool and spa look out to the bush and the ambiance of the birds was pure bliss. Service was great too, staff are knowledgeable and efficient. We were in great need of this relaxing trip and will definitley be returning again in the future to relax and refresh from our busy lives in the city. Perfect for a couple's getaway and a relaxing retreat!
Super comfy bed, clean and nicely equipped room. Very pleasant check in staff. Nice location to access cellar doors in the region. The eRemo restaurant has quite a fancy evening menu. Oysters, octopus, Wagyu and an array of good wines. Fabulous gardens to sit and drink whilst watching the kangaroos in the fields.
Spicers is an excellent place to stay in the Hunter Valley. There’s an onsite restaurant for breakfast lunch and dinner which was really great as well as a pool and tennis court. Very quiet location and very handy to numerous wineries in the area
The hotel is located very nicely, the veranda is beautiful and you can observe various birds and kangaroos. However,… The rooms are ok, but they he veranda was not tidy, terrible sound isolation, the mattress in the baby cod was a towel which is not ok for a five star hotel! Spiderwebs in the wall… The food we ordered in our room was overpriced. The veggies pizza was good, the antipasto very overpriced and only products out of a jar or tasting like supermarket … for 60$ The property is beautiful and I would wish for a trail around to go for a walk. The reception recommended to walk in the street… that is not how I want to experience nature or a relaxing walk Overall, it needs more love and details
