The service and rooms were outstanding. There is not a lot to do at the hotel itself, but there is lots in the local area. It is perfect if you just want to relax and unwind.
A wonderful experience- genuine hospitality and truly unique elegance. We will always stay here when we return to visit the Hunter Valley! Gorgeous property! Lovely rooms, stunning views and the best staff ( especially Peter)!
Spicers Vineyards offered the perfect romantic getaway with its stunning views and serene location. The cozy accommodations, complete with a lovely fireplace and sensational food, made our stay truly special. The team at Spicers went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, handling every request with ease. Exploring the area on e-bikes and visiting the wineries was a fantastic experience, and spotting the kangaroos on the property added a magical touch.
Warm and friendly reception made us feel very comfortable on our arrival. We stayed in a King spa room and it is spacious room with a fire place. The location is quiet and the beautiful hotel has the potential to be 5 star. There is a pool and a heated spa with all time access. So what is not great…synthetic sheets is not luxury and while we are not expecting linen, these are really bad. The restaurant is nice set up but food is disappointing. Good presentation but pedestrian in flavour, texture and seasoning. Beef cheeks are stringy and bland. The salmon starter confused ( not Scandi in attitude or Japanese in subtlety just bland while well presented. The whipped Ricotta with cultured honey was beautiful and the stand out served with in-house bread. The Shakshuka at breakfast is cultural appropriation going horrible wrong. Poached egg in a tomato nothing sauce with some floating mushroom. There was nothing baked with this dish and the only thing hot is the serving dish. Please help this chef to find some passion.
If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! My partner and I had our wedding at Spicers Vineyards Estate recently, and I can't possibly imagine a better location for it. The views across the vineyard were beautiful (we even saw some kangaroos!). The room was perfect, with a nice large bathroom which made doing hair and makeup a breeze. But the best thing about Spicers was the staff. Every member of the team we interacted with were so kind, attentive and helpful -- even more lovely is they all expressed excitement about having a wedding on site. Thank you for making our special day even more special - we'll be back for our anniversary!
