Great for mid range budget accommodation. The foyer, bar area & restaurant are comfortable welcoming areas. The breakfast is a bit expensive for what it is, however being a buffet, if you are prone to really filling up your plate you'll appreciate it. My daughter loved the pancake maker. Sitting on the decking area alongside the river was a great way to start the day. The decking & pool are nice when not too much of a crowd around. Although there is no shade in the pool area on those hot sunny days. Rooms were nice, clean & comfortable. Renovation not fancy & showing a bit of age, but not a concern with the price. The staff were helpful & friendly, giving a relaxed informal feel to the place. The location is great. On the riverbank, just across from the Cafe & restaurant district of town, or a short walk to the local club. Great mid north coast beaches only a 10 min drive away. New years eve was very busy with a lot of families. A lot of noise up until the midnight fireworks were finished (as to be expected). The other nights were noticeably quieter. If you're looking for mid range accommodation, this place offers a bit more than the competition.
Stayed for 1 night only. Reception and general staff very friendly and helpful. Room was clean. Bed comfortable and bathroom adequately sanitised with enough towels for 2 of us. Views of the water and swimming pool great. Pool itself was clean and refreshing. The buffet breakfeast was plentiful, fresh and well presented. We will defintely stay there again but for longer. Highly recommended. Dan. .
Found this motel on google maps. Looked a nice location which it was. Found a superior room that included breakfast and daily room clean, so booked. On arrival, they stated it did not include breakfast. They offered breakfast at $20 each rather than the usual $25. We did not take them up on their offer. I was not going to pay for something twice. The next day we hung the Please Clean My Room sign on the door handle. Returning later to find the room was not cleaned. When asking at reception it was stated they don't clean on weekends or public holidays. This was not what was stated on the booking site. Now as for that, one might think that external booking sites might get it wrong. In this case it was their own booking site, Choice Privileges. I even joined to get better service and a discount, though the result was overpriced in the circumstances and very disappointed that I did not receive what I paid for. Oh, and if you thought cleaning the room only after one night was not an issue, there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom so was very steamy and towels did not dry. We had to collect some more from reception as we had already placed the wet ones on the floor expecting the room to be serviced.
Rooms were alright, found a razor up on the bathroom shower door. It could have been easily missed, quite understandable. However, we went in the pool which had duck poop in it. No signs anywhere near the pool to warn patrons of this. Upon letting the staff know to clean it out, they said it's very common here and with the amount of chemical in the pool, it will be okay. They also mentioned they dont clean the pool for the poo, the poop just dissolves in it. A little heads up would have been good to let us decide whether we are okay to swim in the pool with duck poo. Breakfast was okay. Some staff are really lovely and friendly, some not so much.
The hotel is OK. However - The rooms are somewhat noisy. The single room shared a door with the neighbouring room and one could hear pretty much everything next door. The breakfast was on the pricey end - would have been ok, if the 'barrister' coffee wouldnt have been 5$ extra. For my airport cab, I asked for a booking. Was given a piece of paper with a number. All ok but not quite there.
