One of the best rooftop places at Cockle Bay Wharf. Great ambience and atmosphere. Friendly service and delicious variety of food and beverages. It's perfect if you can come here on a Saturday night where the Darling Harbour fireworks will be shown - it's the best spot and views. Coming to summer, definitely recommend Cafe del Mar.
Absolutely amazing dinner at Cafe Sydney before a show at the Sydney Opera House! We both had a cocktail --their version of an apple martini is one of the best I've ever had. We shared garlic bread and asparagus, and my main dish was the salmon. Everything was delicious, the staff were exceptional, and asked if we needed to be out at a certain time, which we appreciated. The cherry on top is the view from the restaurant. All in all, this easily a place to go back to!
Probably the worst food i’ve had lol, but kudos to the staff they did their best Had a bite of fish of the day and couldn’t bring myself for another bite, It’s just indescribable. We left with the whole dish left. The roasted pork is just cold and chunky, the skin is hard not crunchy, literally just eat to get some protein and not waste $200 (and thats already 50% off on first table, is that why everything tastes like a week ago food?) The dessert looks pretty and theatrical but tastes really confused, what’s even that sauce… the ice cream is just sad. The view was nice and all and the drinks were ok tho. They also gave me a complementary dish for my bday which is nice. That free churros is probably the best dish in that dinner If i blind tasted this place id think it’s some failing restaurant in a small suburb that gordon ramsey would have nightmares about, not in the city of sydney?? Just a waste of location and potential. 1/5 for the food. 5/5 for the staff
Our evening at Cafe Del Mar was truly enchanting. Located at Cockle Bay Wharf, the Mediterranean restaurant offers panoramic views of Darling Harbour. The interior exudes elegance, featuring plush booth seats, an open kitchen, and a mesmerizing blue feature canopy casting a dreamy and magical atmosphere over the main dining area. To start, we shared two small plates. The handcrafted Burrata cheese was beautifully paired with a slightly acidic sauce, while the octopus was smoky and delightfully melt-in-your-mouth. For mains, we savored the perfectly cooked lamb, served medium rare and accompanied by pepper and pearl couscous. The whole charcoal spatchcock boasted a buttery, chili flavor that was simply divine. With generous portions of entrees and mains, we decided to share the theatrical Golden Moon dessert. While a fun and visually stunning dish, the acidic elements such as the lemon curd were somewhat overshadowed by the sweeter components like the white chocolate and hazelnut sauce. Our dining experience was further enhanced by the excellent and attentive service provided by our waiter, Bijay. We booked through First Table, which offered incredible value for the high-quality food, stunning venue, and impeccable service.
First time here and we loved it. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and made great suggestions. I have never tasted octopus so tender, it melted in my mouth. Every dish we ate was delicious. Will definitely be back.
