Probably the best Intercontinental our family has stayed at! The decor, the breakfast, the rooms and view are simply amazing. Kudos to the reception for going the extra mile to make our stay special, by genuinely asking about our stay and fixing facility issues promptly. Highly recommended for families.
I stayed at the InterContinental Sydney for 2 nights on our trip to Sydney. First impressions, the hotel is spotless and modern, with the interior furnished and renovated. It is a huge contrast to the old battered 19th-century outer walls. The reception consisted of a couple oval shaped desks that were close in proximity to the entrance. The staff were super nice and friendly. We paid for the Sydney Harbour Bridge view and the view was fantastic. The rooms at this hotel were spotlessly clean and renovated. All the facilities were modern and seemingly brand-new! The toilets were clean and were of reasonable size. We received room service daily they would refill the coffee and make your beds. The hotel's location is fantastic, a 10-minute walk to the opera house and a 5-minute walk to Circular Quay. Public transport is available via train (Circular Quay Station) and ferry (Circular Quay Wharf). Not the best selection of public transit but acceptable. The hotel also offers a gym and a pool on the top floor. The gym includes a wide variety of exercise equipment but doesn't provide towel service. The pool is slightly on the smaller side and can be extremely overcrowded. I don't think I saw any spas or saunas. One letdown of this hotel was the service provided. Unfortunately, the housekeeping service was extremely slow and they were very unprofessional. I asked for a couple pairs of slippers and they took an entire 45 minutes to deliver them. By that time I already gave up and forgot about the whole thing. Since we were a family of three with one child and the room didn't include the child in the fare, we were only provided amenities for TWO people. I asked over and over again for them to provide amenities for THREE people but was rejected and disregarded. Also, the elevators were extremely slow and crowded even in off-peak hours. Overall, the hotel provided an excellent option for luxury travellers for easy access to the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. I would not return due to the lack of service and lack of transport options. The only good things about this hotel are the cleanliness of the rooms, the proximity to the opera house and the modern feel of the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to luxury travellers seeking a hotel with great facilities and great proximity to the attractions. But I would not recommend this hotel if you care more about service and accessibility/public transit.
Fantastic location for our stay exploring the harbour and surrounds, near the station and plenty to see and do (botanical gardens, Luna park, museums) during the holidays. Our corner suite was well appointed however had an issue with cleanliness but the hotel team were very quick to put this right. Beautiful beds and blackout blinds, and we had all we needed for a few nights, along with incredible options for room service. The bathroom was stunning and as a family, the layout was perfect to provide for privacy and a feeling of space which isn’t always readily achievable in a hotel. Also noted it was a very quiet space, which may be due to the layout and long hallway, but it’s exactly what we seek on our adventures. We’re looking forward to coming back already! ❤️
My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Intercontinental. It is perfectly located and the amenities and service were outstanding. The room overlooked the harbour and was spacious and very comfortable. The rooftop bar is a must with sweeping views of the opera house, harbour bridge and eastern suburbs. Breakfast was included and was first class in quality and quantity. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a spectacular stay in Sydney.
We had a lovely weekend stay at the Intercontinental with our two young children. We felt very welcomed by all the staff and they were more than happy to help with any questions. The room was well appointed with some thoughtful touches such as choice of pillows and electric curtains. The location of the hotel is perfect - walking distance to Circular Quay for light rail, trains or ferries and Botanic Gardens. We would love to stay again next time we visit Sydney
