We chose to have our wedding at this location and the day turned out wonderful. All the staff working on the wedding took great care of us, and we had nothing to worry about on the day and simply got to enjoy it, which was great. Location is beautiful and the accommodation is great, truly worth it for anyone thinking of getting married here. The only negative we have is that the cleaning staff let themselves into our apartment before we had checked out and there were personal items still in there, and they did not call or try to contact us before going in.
The menu at Boilerhouse barely changes. We haven't been since May last year, but it was basically the same. The kids menu is boring and beige. Add some grilled fish and veggies or a burger. Breakfast is always "fine". But teaspoons seemed to have disappeared? Our room had a burn in the carpet from an iron, and the lounge area and some bleach marks in the carpet. On our check out day there was a terrible seweage smell, which we also noted last May. Our bathroom light was not working, but it was fixed quickly. We had only one coffee/tea mug in our room. We requested one in the morning and it didnt' arrive when we came back after lunch. It took another hour after asking again to recieve one (of which they took from the empty room across from us, as we saw them go in and take it) We are Accor Gold members, and recieved no welcome amenities. I had also emailed and noted it was my birthday and requested a specific room if possible, but no acknowledgement was given (which isn't a big deal, but obivously there was no attention paid) The fact that you don't offer any fee-free ways to pay is also frustrating. You are cashless, and force card surcharges onto the consumer. Lovely location and staff are normally pretty friendly. But needs a bit of maintenance and one of our lesser enjoyable stays than the past.
Had to stay here when my flight was cancelled. The place is in the middle of nowhere, approx $120 cab fare from the airport. The service by reception was top class, couldn't fault this. Likewise the shuttle bus service that takes you to your room and the restaurant. Drivers were friendly. The room had no air con. Crazy. It was a 39 degree day and no ventilation in the room. A low speed ceiling fan was it. No windows to open. There was a light outside the glass front door that could not be turned off. The curtains over the door were inadequate to keep the light out. Combination of stifling hot room and that was lit up made it nigh on impossible to sleep. I would not stay here again.
Nice location in the National Park with a lot of history. We enjoyed the walks in the national park but also the history walking tour and the dinner restaurant. The rooms are simple with a great view. However, some things just need an investment in the rooms. The bathtub could do with a change and definitely the blow dryers as well. The blow dryer when using it, sounds like it could blow up in flames any time :). Overall still a nice experience and a good place for a short stay.
Amazing setting in a major historical site. Beautiful grounds and a lovely little beach. But not really a 4 star hotel. Very limited food available on site. Some poor maintenance. Make sure you choose the accommodation that meets your needs. They vary a lot. The museum and the tours are excellent.
