Trick, tick, tick. Loved our stay at QT. Stunning hotel. Our room was beautiful. Bed was very comfortable. Dyson hairdryer a bonus. Only negatives (small ones), nowhere to hang a hand towel or anything else in the bathroom, and the sound of toilet filling or other plumbing sounds most of the night.
Review of QT Sydney - overall, a nice experience with a bit of room for improvement. Initially, my experience with one of the Front Desk team members wasn't very positive. I arrived on a Thursday afternoon and I appreciate it was a very busy time for the team - but I had also had a long drive and quite a stressful time trying to find parking and get into the City in peak hour. I was met with frustration and some annoyance from the team member I was talking to, given the questions I was asking about parking etc. The room itself looks very nice, however, it wasn't very clean in some areas (my remote was sticky and the desk hadn't been wiped down) also, the bath plug was broken so while there was a beautiful bath I couldn't use it. Also, some instructions in the room like a little leaflet on how to order room service, connect to wifi etc would be greatly appreciated to make finding these things easier.
Loved this place! Great service. Amazing atmosphere. Love the decor. The body care products in the room were so good that I'm trying to find where to buy them for home. The rooms were super quiet and dark. Just a shame that Gowings bar and grill isn't open on a Sunday - come on guys you are in a capital city not a country town! The mini bar prices were astronomical! 2 -3 times the price of going around the corner to the supermarket. I have stayed in another simular hotel that provided a small selection of snacks and non-alcohol drinks complimentary I the room and refilled them daily. This isn't a cheap hotel so I'm sure you could either halve the minibar prices or provide a selection of complimentary snacks. Still loved this hotel though and will definitely be booking again.
I recall reviewing this magnificent hotel when it first opened, for the Sydney Morning Herald. Everything I enjoyed the first time I stayed is as good, if not better. Hotels can seem a little tired after a number of years, but not this one. Still fresh as a recently born daisy. Not only are the rooms thoughtfully designed, the location second to none (particularly if you are thinking of visiting the state theatre to inhale some sweet music, as I am tonight), the staff are what really make this place hum. Great bars, restaurants, great nooks and crannies. Chefs kiss from me.
Rooms are beautifully designed in an art deco style. Hotel is centrally located with great bars and restaurants located within the complex. Staff were exceptional, very welcoming. We were given a double upgrade to an executive king room which was amazing, and a late check out. Highly recommended
