This location is ideal if you want to explore wine country. The property itself is beautiful. We stayed 5 days, If you don’t want to go wine tasting you can do a small picnic in the surrounding area. They are pet friendly and you have a separate area in the restaurant to sit with your fur-babies. Staff is very friendly we had a quite a fun chat with Karen 😅 she is amazing.
We recently stayed at Kirkton Park Hotel and had an absolutely fantastic experience. The property is incredibly picturesque—set in stunning surroundings that make you feel relaxed as soon as you arrive. The atmosphere throughout the hotel is wonderfully calming and perfect for a getaway. What really made our stay stand out was the staff. Everyone we met was professional, warm, and genuinely welcoming. A special shoutout to Trish, who went above and beyond to make us feel at home. She shared her passion for the local area and pointed us towards some great activities that really added to our trip. Would highly recommend Kirkton Park Hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful, scenic stay with exceptional hospitality.
I wanted to love this place. As a four star hotel, this was a huge disappointment. Starting with the rooms. The beds were incredibly uncomfortable. Old mattresses covered with a lumpy mattress topper, pillow were feather but not those thick full pillows, they were flat and lumpy also. I asked if they had firm pillows and they provided us with 2 cheap 'firm' pillows which were just as flat as the other ones. The doona was the worst part. It was sandwiches between 2 flat sheets and they completely tangled throughout the night in a sheet and doona mess. It was the most frustrating sleep I have ever had. The bed was made terribly - both nights. (See photos). The bathroom is old and run down. The drains smell of sewage. The water pressure is bad and the hot water is BOILING hot. The lighting in the room was also terrible. Every single lamp had a different colour and brightness bulb. I know this seems trivial but it just made the ambience bad. The grounds of the place are OK but not as well maintained as is should be. Lawns not mowed, branches everywhere. There seemed to be a pile of plates anytime we left the room just sitting on the floor. While we were there we saw the same handful of staff so I just think they don't have enough staff to manage the place. I want the owners to reevaluate the 'small things' and get them right because getting a bad review for such trivial stuff is a loss to them.
This hotel is beautiful, my room was a little small but bed was comfy, decor very nicely done. I did notice that housekeeping didn’t like to wipe down dirty surfaces when servicing the room daily. However in saying this, that would be my only complaint. The staff were wonderful, very hospitable & warm. The breakfasts were lovely the bar menu meals were lovely too. I will definitely stay there again. I totally enjoyed my time there.
A perfect stay to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. The whole stay was unreal. Great king room with perfect views over the valley. The service ( everywhere ) was also great. Nothing was a problem for any of the staff ( not that we had any complaints ) Our room had great valley views with great sunsets and out the back a beautiful rose garden. All the grounds were kept in very very good condition. Would HIGHLY RECKOMMEND
