Nice location in the National Park with a lot of history. We enjoyed the walks in the national park but also the history walking tour and the dinner restaurant. The rooms are simple with a great view. However, some things just need an investment in the rooms. The bathtub could do with a change and definitely the blow dryers as well. The blow dryer when using it, sounds like it could blow up in flames any time :). Overall still a nice experience and a good place for a short stay.
We chose to have our wedding at this location and the day turned out wonderful. All the staff working on the wedding took great care of us, and we had nothing to worry about on the day and simply got to enjoy it, which was great. Location is beautiful and the accommodation is great, truly worth it for anyone thinking of getting married here. The only negative we have is that the cleaning staff let themselves into our apartment before we had checked out and there were personal items still in there, and they did not call or try to contact us before going in.
Great location and enjoyable stay. Staff were very helpful and friendly, a special mention to Lachy who worked hard and always a smile on his face. Rooms had no air conditioning and the bath/shower combo was not safe. The Museum was interesting. Boilerhouse was great but would have been better if guests were informed of opening hours at night especially after the Night at Barracks concert. Otherwise our stay was great!
Busy weekend and the staff were pretty good at check. The shuttle bus was foggy with no inside lights and no automatic door. The driver was soaking wet as he hopped in and out constantly. Not super helpful with luggage. Rooms were well appointed and warm and comfortable. On check out, we waited quite a while to be picked up and once at the reception, the driver just got out and left us to unload our luggage. The man on reception simply said - checking out - I said yes thank you, he snatched the key and turned away and walked back into office area, saying nothing at all more. Very abrupt and actually quite rude. I was shocked! We won’t be staying again.
We experienced the Romance package, which included overnight accommodation in a very spacious and clean room, a bottle of wine, a three course meal paired with wine and breakfast the following morning. Check in was very easy and all amenities were explained, included the shuttle bus routine. The meal was outstanding, at the Boiler house, which is a quaint and cosy restaurant with amazing views. Breakfast was a, plentiful, hot buffet including cereals, pastries, tea/coffee and juice. The area around the Q Station is walkable, but hilly. Highly recommend a stay over or just a visit.
