Friendly staff. great location with a short walk into town, fantastic pool looking over the beach, great day beds and daily happy hour. The rooms are beautifully furnished, great view from the balcony, comfortable bed. We couldn't ask for anything more. The rooms and grounds are very clean and well maintained. Great breakfast, outdoors overlooking the pool and the ocean. Absolutely loved it here.
A unique and beautiful resort right on the water. Rooms were cool and clean which made it a comfortable stay. Checkout is a bit early compared to most resorts but overall this is a great place to stay with friendly staff!
$1347 for a 2 night stay and couldn't get a complimentary bottle of water for the room. I paid the $6 without argument for a 500ml "still bottle of water" but let's give this one a bit more thought guys a $1 bottle of water has cost you not only my future business as a matter of principal but also potential business of anyone else who reads this post and has a basic understanding of what is expected from a high class resort. This is night 1 so there may be additional photos and edits to this review before our stay is over. Edit 1 - it's 7.55pm and room service is now unavailable keeps getting better.
The view is spectacular and the pool and outdoor area was stunning, BUT the blonde older lady in the bar needs some training in how to deal with PAYING customers.. $15.40 for fries on a Sunday… yes I know it’s a resort and I was happy to pay for them but to then be served a TINY SIDE bowl of over cooked fries was disgusting.. I went and asked if I may of been given a kids serving of fries as surely this is not correct for $15 ??? The lady responded “potato’s are expensive “ I had to hold back from laughing… but she was dam serious as that is her reasoning for giving my children a below average side bowl of fries.. She then told me No this is correct… Coral sea is absolutely taking families and guests for a ride charging them this type of money for legit a tiny side bowl of fries . I have worked in hospitality for 20 years and would always want to make the guest leave with a happy experience… this lady/manager of the bar could of easily rectified this issue by giving my family another small bowl of fries but no it was basically like, sorry this is what we serve. Disappointing considering how much they charge for drinks and the rooms… I’m sure coral sea could have been in a position to give my children a bowl of fries after what we were given. Crazy that one small crappy bowl of fries could leave such a bad review of your holiday . Coral sea need to do better .
Here is why I give them a 2 star— We paid extra for an oceanfront room with balcony and plunge pool aka bath tub outside but the room they gave us what on the first floor with garden where we could barely see the water through the garden .. and the garden had so so soooo many bugs which means we can’t use the balcony! Had there been a higher floor this would have been worth what we paid. We feel it was falsely advertised and we got charged more for a room that didn’t fit description. And in america this would be a 2 or max 3 star. This is no way a 4 star. But the fact that they overcharged us for a room by calling it seaview and putting us in garden from is appalling. What’s worse is we said downgrade us a to basic waterfront room and they said they couldn’t downgrade us because we booked from booking.com. So because we didn’t directly book from them they wouldn’t downgrade us unless we rebook hotel from them directly
