Chu the Phat went above and beyond our expectations and may be our new favourite restaurant. The service was great. Staff were attentive and helpful with explaining the menu to us (we ordered the regular banquet). We did not feel rushed, the order and timing in which our dishes came out was well organised and paced. Now the food… the food is incredible! The steamed duck buns were definitely a stand out for us, they were super soft and packed with flavour. We got so much food out of ordering the banquet between the two of us, and even got to take home the leftovers! Everything was super fresh which was also a plus. The cocktails were also yummy too, especially the violet spritz. The atmosphere is nice, a little dark and moody if you are sitting downstairs. Perfect for a date night. We will definitely be back for another visit, and would recommend this spot to all.
The most delicious meals! Thank you. Cant wait to come back and try out more things on the menu. Really appreciated the gluten free menu. Quirky place, but love the vibes.
We arrived in south bank so wanted to try a place near by our hotel and this place looked suffice. We arrived at what we thought was the entrance and after the doors opened, we went upstairs to where they were serving people so I guess during the day the top side of the restaurant is opened as I've seen during the night the bottom part is opened up. We decided on the lunch banquet as it looked alright and should be enough for our family with 2 small kids to just share the meals if we just ordered for 2 adults. The initial starter meals came out in a timely manner and they were nice to give us extra steamed duck buns for our kids too. We enjoyed the Wagyu dumplings and then salmon tartare but the sesame cracker was different that we've never seen it done like this before and it was yummy. I would've given this review a 4.5 and the reason why I gave this was because it took a while to get the rest of our meals, not sure how long we waited as least a good 20 minutes but we were getting antsy (and I wouldn't mind the wait but with 2 small kids you really need to be on the ball when it comes with meals). Finally our meals came out, all was good however the combination of fried rice cakes/Korean bolognese didn't really fit well for us. I mean I understand what they are trying with this dish, trying to make it fusion asian/italian but if i was at a restaurant i wouldn't order this separately. Would I go here again? Yeah I wouldn't mind trying however as a tourist if I came here again, I would probably want to try somewhere new and different.
We love Nicky so much, gave us a lot of amazing dining advice, and always took care of us. I heard before that the chef of this restaurant is very good. It was amazing to eat today. My favorite one is wagyu dumplings. So amazing 👏
I’m very glad I finally tried this restaurant. The food is as good as everyone’s been saying it is. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, I am in fact drooling as I am writing this review 🤤. Texture, taste and aroma of the food were all top notch. Dim lighting inside and upbeat music adds to the trendiness. Location in inner city means customers need to find their own car park or catch public transport in but the cultural centre bus station is less than 5 minutes’ walk away.
