Wow! This place absolutely surprised me. The food flavours you can't imagine until you actually taste it. The balance of the flavours of each dish is amazing. And it's not just 1 dish out of 10. Every single dish you ordered, tastes amazingly great!! And not just that, service is great! Shea who looked after us, he is awesome and other staff are also very knowledgeable and friendly too. It's really very rare to find a place like this in Australia. This will be my new favourite restaurant. Thank you for the great food, great service and beautiful atmosphere. I only have a few photos, as I got busy eating and surprised
We recently dined in on last Saturday night and unfortunately, the experience was really bad. The oysters we ordered were not fresh. We have had much better oysters at other places, and it’s concerning that this restaurant would serve something of such poor quality. When we told the waitress about the oysters are not fresh and asked to change new oysters they were dismissed without any replace. We ended up did not eat the rest as they are not fresh and staff refused to change new oysters for us. Waste of our money. Staff also made argument with us said that the oysters are Sydney rock and that how they supposed to taste. All of us have had Sydney rock oyster before we know what is fresh and not fresh tasted like. But not just that on the menu it says Strandbroke Island rock oyster and you served us Sydney rock oysters??? We expected much better quality and service, especially considering the reputation of this restaurant. The food dishes were average and the dessert overly sweet. We would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. We like to try different places and had been to many fine dining restaurants in Brisbane. We are all agreed this is the worst fine dining experience.
It was a bit busy around 6 PM, but the staff was super friendly and attentive. Things were a little slow when it came to taking and bringing our orders, though. We waited about 10 to 15 minutes between meals and drinks. The portions are a bit on the smaller side for the price, I must say that the cocktails were very delicious, so I wouldn’t recommend going there if you’re really hungry.
We came for a family dinner. We quite enjoyed the atmosphere and the design of the restaurant. We ordered Barbari bread which we absolutely loved and the buffalo curd was amazing! Although they did forget about one of our entrees but quickly served after we reminded them. The timing from the entrees to the main was abit too long (40minutes), we loved the pork, lamb and beef they were all very top quality meat and very tender! The marshmallow dessert was a good experience and fun for the family ☺️ The specialty drink was interesting and the wine was good.
Gerard's is a Brisbane institution and must-visit for locals and visitors alike. The new share-style menu is exquisite and the fit out one of the most inviting in Brisbane. For a special occasion, date night or VIP client hosting, I can't recommend Gerard's enough.
