No booking is required for under six people, so we just walked in and apparently got the last table available. The table we got sat at was very small and cramped. Our backs could almost touch the peoples’ backs behind us! It was very loud inside, though considering it’s also a bar, this could be excused. Service at first was okay. We initially got served by an American waitress, however, throughout the evening, this slowly deteriorated. The food took 20-25 minutes to come out, though they were very busy, so it makes sense. We ordered a wagyu bolognese x2, and this wasn’t very enjoyable. It was quite sweet and lacked seasoning 🧂. One of us pushed through - the other could not eat it anymore as it was unfortunately very unappetising, therefore we had to order a different meal (specifically the sweet baby Jesus wings). The wings 🍗 were okay, could be better. We also ordered the southern fried chicken meal. This was good - the mash was tasty. On the other hand, the peri peri chicken burger was very messy and kept falling apart. Most importantly, when we tried to flag someone down to order another meal, the staff either did not hear us or purposefully ignored us. They were not making eye contact either. Some staff were also quite loud and rowdy, but once again, this is a bar so… Additionally, prices are relatively high. Overall, we will not be returning any time soon.
Saw BAD BUNNY at LOOSE MOOSE appearing as THE GREATEST streamed show in SUPERBOWL history. A Prohibition styled Americanesque bar in central Broadbeach was ‘the place to be’ … attentive & friendly staff all in Coors shirts n caps. Attention to detail 🎯 I bought the PLATINUM package which included unlimited spirits (G & Ts I chose) for 3 hours + a decadent Espresso Martini on arrival & this was a brilliant choice by me to just relax, watch the game & be served sliders etc & drinks…5 screens all streaming the SuperBowl 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Starters were delicious. Hotdog a hit. Pizza had something missing. We didn’t have a great table with way too much passing traffic and it was hard to wave down staff to order but would go back as the menu had something for everyone and there is a very cool vibe.
An update to my review. The one over which I was banned from the club. The owners' representative, Shannon, has responded as you will see, albeit in a condescending, dismissive, inaccurate and unprofessionally theatrical manner, still refusing to acknowledge the underlying problem, poor maintenance. You'll notice I rated the Loose Moose highly for service and atmosphere. My grievance was over the very large ceiling fans of which at least two are malfunctioning. They have been that way since at least October 2025. Does that sound like maintenance is a focus? Not having them working has been a topic of conversation, disappointment and frustration among many who have attended, visitors and locals alike. Many have complained about the faulty fans repeatedly throughout spring and summer, only to be told "yes, the owner knows about it", every time. Many colourful comments have been made about the owner. I haven't seen those people banned. The staff have even attempted to get the fans to spin using a broom stick, a fact that Shannon appears to deny. He wasn't there at the time. It really happened. I should know, I helped them and there were witnesses. Shannon may not have noticed but a lot of people are now staying away at other venues until the cooler hours of the afternoon. The lecture in his response about the weather and human physiology was amusing. Apparently the concept of moving air creating a cooling effect on the human body hasn't occurred to Shannon, nor has he speculated on why ceiling fans might have been installed in the first place. Back to the day I was banned, and clearly getting nowhere in spite of the best efforts of the staff, I posted the review below, only to be told 30 minutes later that I would have to leave immediately and was banned from the premises. Yes, over a completely factual review that could have been resolved quickly and easily. It still can be, but that's up to the owner. The misconduct Shannon has accused me of was simply referring to the person responsible for maintenence (himself) as being incompetent, and let me be clear, this is maintenence that was neglected for months (and still is). That's it. A bruised ego, ultimately brought on by consistent inaction over a known problem. I was even criticised for including the two following paragraphs in my review as if Shannon expects they don't apply to him. I'm sure they must realise the duty of care they have to their patrons, and that they have to properly maintain their facilities in order to avoid damage or injuries caused by defective equipment and/or electrical wiring. If these fans are responding to a wiring fault, would it not make good business sense to have that promptly fixed? They must surely also be aware of subrogation laws that allow an insurer (the Oasis Centre insurer for example) to recover costs from any party that may have contributed by action or neglect to a property loss or injury claim. For the record, I'm an electronics maintenance engineer and I also audit business management systems for a living. If the owner or Shannon would like to have a reasonable conversation about risk management, customer focus, workplace health and safety and legislative compliance, I'm certainly open to that as always. Anyway, my original review, the one that got me thrown out, is below. ==== The Moose is a great place for good music on a Sunday afternoon but as a dance venue it leaves a lot to be desired. In fact, on a hot day it can be very uncomfortable for everyone. Dancing, and sometimes just sitting listening to good music can be a hot and sweaty experience. That's why working ceiling fans are so important. Unfortunately, the owner of the Loose Moose has, since 2025, refused to have an electrician repair the obviously faulty fans above the dance floor. Dancing customers equate to higher drink sales. From a business point of view I find it remarkable that a business owner would ignore ( and for so long) the comfort of his patrons and the associated promise of an uptick in drink sales. Shannon, it's well past time.
Came over for a sporting comp and it was very very busy. We didn’t have a reservation and we were greeted with friendliness and guided to a table. With it being so busy we thought it would take long but the service was great and fast. Food was not bad and huge portions great value for money. Decorated for Halloween maybe looked awesome! Atmosphere was great apart from a few drunk people , 1 even climbed up on the bar which I felt was odd. Over all had a great time.
