Our mission as a brewery is simple, good beer with enjoyment, and our Taproom is both of those things in abundance. Nestled in the heart of Currumbin on the Gold Coast, this is a place where everybody is welcome no matter your level of beer knowledge. With a rotating roster of fresh, limited release beers, live music, and food from the best regional food trucks, we know we’ve done our job if people are walking out with a smile on their face like the one on our beer. After a recent expansion, our original warehouse style set up, now neighbours a sun-drenched beer garden and colourful upper-mezzanine bar. With plenty of taps and plenty of beer nooks to settle into, visitors can kick back and enjoy their beer just meters from where it was made.To find us, look for the building that’s smiling.

This is a must do! We cannot fault this place. We did the Beer School tour and had an absolute blast, mostly to the credit of Jake who ran the tour, but the rest of the staff were amazing also. Informative, fun and thirst quenching, we hung around for a good part of the afternoon to enjoy some Italian and Mexican food from the food trucks. Great decor and atmosphere, and by far the best brewery we have been to. We will be back!

Fantastic experience just fantastic! Casa hosted the night and geez he was a fabulous host. Super informative and the beer was 10 out of 10. We normally do boys night at palmy surf club but after this experience I don’t think I’ll ever go back and buy a chicken parmigiana again. Balter you have me! 5 star review

Great place for some beers! Did a brewery tour (must book) and our guide was super informative and friendly! $30 for a drink, paddle and the tour, can’t beat it! Really enjoyed the atmosphere, lots of seating upstairs and downstairs. Highly recommend must do in the Gold Coast!

We went there to visit the factory. It was $30 with a tasting at the end. The visit was really interesting and friendly. The place is really nice to enjoy a beer with some friends ! I recommend it.

What steps are involved in booking an event at Balter Taproom?

There are a steps involved in booking an event at Balter Taproom and the VenueNow team are here to do the heavy lifting for you.

Firstly, contact the VenueNow team by submitting an enquiry or speaking to one of our team members online or over the phone. We'll need to collect a few details from you, such as your:
- Event type
- Number of people attending
- Preferred event date & time (and if this is flexible)
- Budget (per person or total)
- Room layout
- Food and beverage / catering requirements
- Any other requirements

Once we've gathered these details, the VenueNow team will contact the team at Balter Taproom to check:
1) Can they host the event on your preferred date / time? If not, what are some alternate dates / times?
2) What is the estimated cost based on your event requirements?

This process tends to take around 1 business day on average to receive a response from the venue. Once we've received a response, the VenueNow team will contact you as soon as possible.

If you're happy with the proposed price and dates / times, the VenueNow team will connect you with Balter Taproom to finalise your booking (which may include a site visit if you choose to do so).

VenueNow provides this service free of charge to you as we are paid a small fee by Balter Taproom if you book via us.

Are Dogs allowed?

Unfortunately, due to our production licence, council regulations don't allow us to your bring furry mates inside the taproom. If you'd like to bring your pets along, there is a shaded pole outside by the front door where they can hang out sip on water while you sip on beer. 

Are kids allowed?

We are a kid-friendly venue but we ask that your little ones stay with you at all times. For the safety of your children, we ask there is no playing in the car park or alleyway between buildings. No running inside or climbing onto the trees or displays in the merch store.

Can I have my wedding/reception at the taproom?

Absolutely! We’d love to share your special day with you in our Taproom. Please get in touch with our events team via email at events@balter.com.au 

Can I hire your space for my photo shoot?

Can I hire my whole venue for my event?

Our beer garden and full venue hire is typically available to hire for private events on weekdays only. However we can always work together to make it work. events@balter.com.au

Do you have event hire costs?

Our Taproom events run on a minimum spend basis. This means there are no hire costs, however, a minimum amount is required to be spent over the course of the function by either the host, or their guests. A deposit is required and is put towards your bar tab on the evening. For more information please contact events@balter.com.au.

Do you serve food?

Yes! We have a range of food trucks serving each of our trading days. To keep up to date with our rotating roster of food trucks and live music, head to the ‘What’s On?’ section above or jump over to our Instagram highlight stories! 

How do I make a booking?

To make a table booking simply go through our website. We take bookings of 6+ from Sunday through to Thursday and bookings of 10+ on Fridays and Saturdays. Our taproom has plenty of places for smaller groups to sit and we always leave tables open for walk-ins! Please note that we are closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Which areas do you hire out for private functions?

Our Upper Mezzanine area is our primary space for private functions, however, we also have a few semi-private spaces available. You can have a look through these areas in the ‘Event Hire’ section above. It is a swiss army knife for functions, ranging from 10 - 400pax
