Really a great place to spend whole day with family and friends. Very beautifully arranged wildlife and other stuffs. The cafe's food and coffee was amazing. Overall had a great time! Kids will enjoy the dinosaur garden & level 4 wildlife section. Highly recommended for spending a hot summer day when the UV index is 11 !
This is a highlight for anyone interested in natural history. Beautiful specimens in really thoughtful and well curated displays that have character and allow for such appreciation. I enjoyed the surprise of the specimen drawers on the uppermost level, along with some live reptiles and insects there. Air conditioning was lovely on a hot day and staff are clearly helpful and passionate. Nice layout that makes it not feel crowded, and plenty of seating amongst the exhibits so that if you rest you are still in close proximity to displays to enjoy, which I find rare in museums. Very pleased to see an acknowledgment of Native Custodians/ apology in a prominent place on the wall. Easy to reach on public transport and the general exhibits are free. Truly a spectacular collection of items and I will be back next time I am in Brisbane
I recently gifted my partner tickets to the "Discovering Ancient Egypt" as an anniversary present and it was absolutely sensational! I haven't visited Queensland Museum since I was in Primary school so a lot has changed but we will definitely be back with our kids to have a look at some of the other exhibits that are on. I would say that if there is a ticketed exhibit on - I probably wouldn't just rock up without pre-purchasing tickets. Thankfully I had planned ahead but there were signs up saying that most of the sessions were sold out for the rest of the day.
My sons absolutely loved visiting the Museum of Queensland, especially since they are both little Dino fanatics! They had such an educational and fun experience learning all about their favorite dinosaurs. The exhibits were incredible, and they were thrilled to see life-size models and fossils up close. The museum does a fantastic job of making learning exciting for kids, and it was such a joy to see their faces light up with each new discovery. Highly recommend for families with curious minds!
This museum reminds me of Night at the Museum movie. So many things to see and read! I went last month at the exhibition for Ancient Egypt, it was great! I will definitely come back and visit again.
