We spent 4 days and 3 nights at Tangalooma Island Resort and it was the perfect mix of relaxation, adventure, and wildlife. From feeding wild dolphins at sunset to exploring the famous Tangalooma Wrecks, every moment felt magical. Some highlights: 🏍️The ATV/Quad Bike tour was so much fun, great for thrill seekers! 🤿We kayaked and snorkeled around the wrecks and spotted turtles and fish. 🏄Sand boarding down the desert dunes was a blast! 🌅The sunset views over the water were absolutely stunning every evening. ⛴️The ferry/cruise to and from the island was smooth and scenic, just added to the whole experience. The resort has BBQ facilities, so a great tip is to bring your own food and cook. It’s fun and saves money. There’s also plenty of wildlife around, from kookaburras to dolphins, which really makes you feel connected to nature. Some tips: ⭐️There are $2 Lockers next to the toilets behind reception. ⭐️Don’t rush, stay over a night and book the Adventure Day Pass if you’re going to do all of the activities on it. If not it’s more worth to hire individually. ⭐️You can watch dolphin feeding without paying If you’re after a unique island getaway with loads to do, Tangalooma is 100% worth it. Would go back in a heartbeat!

We booked directly through the Tangalooma website for the Aquatic Adventure Day Cruise, which included ferry transfers and gear rental for kayaking, paddleboarding, and snorkeling — all for $155 per person. Aside from the locker fee, we didn’t spend anything extra on the island, thanks to the included perks. The ferry ride was smooth (about 1h15), even for those who get motion sickness — very comfortable. We also got surprise bonuses: a voucher for a free drink on the ferry and $25 to spend at one of the island’s restaurants. Really nice touch! Due to bad weather (wind), staff offered alternative options. We swapped the kayak and paddleboard rental for a longer guided snorkeling tour, which was a good call. The island itself is stunning, and you’re free to explore at your own pace — a major plus. The snorkeling tour was okay, though the gear was pretty basic and the organization a bit chaotic. Not much support for beginners, and we spent a lot of time waiting around for only 30–40 minutes in the water (met at 12:45, finished around 3:30). Lockers are $10 for the day, and you can’t keep the key — you have to leave it at the desk, which means queuing up each time you want access to your stuff. Overall, a good experience that could definitely be better organized, but still totally worth doing — especially when booked as a package.

Fantastic day . 10am ferry over 4pm ferry back. Only wished we had more time on thy island. Loved the quad bike ride. Everyone staff member was very nice. Was told the lunch could be 40 minutes from ordering as they were extremely, but only took 10 minutes. Good sized portions, good seafood baskets and tasty grilled chicken burger.

This is a very mixed review and I would urge all reading this to take my points into considerations We visited Tangalooma for a day trip today and had the ATV Quad Bikes booked and Dolphin Feeding. We got the 10am ferry which was fine, however it wasn’t clear our quad biking would be at 4pm, meaning we had a few hours to “kill”. This wasn’t an issue as such, just an oversight which could have been clearer. The Quad bikes was great - huge kudos to the team for being so engaging! The dolphin feeding was a disappointment I will say - we paid for two tickets and only one of us was allowed to feed the fish. Considering we paid a substantial amount for this “main event” it was a shame that one of us had to sacrifice the experience. The whole management was a shambles really especially when we had travelled SO far to be there. A very very lovely family offered us one of their “tickets”/places which was met with push-back by the team, meaning I could feed the dolphin as I had initially not been able to. The lady who was managing the situation was not polite and had no understanding or emotional intelligence at this point. I explained the situation and she called a chap over who said it was fine for me the family to very kindly give me their space. As I stepped closer to the beach, the chap very rudely told me “not to be rude to his staff”, which I hadn’t been, in the slightest, I was explaining the situation which she had not understood - me going into the water with my partner initially is NOT what I paid for - we paid for two tickets. I really though this comment and attitude was unprofessional. The management was poor - if there were too many people today then they should have managed this more appropriately and not missold the ticket and/or made this clear from the off-set. Apart from dolphin feeding situation - the experience was lovely and the island truly is wonderful.

Had an awesome 3 night stay, the resort is a bit dated (which I think gives it quite a bit of charm though), the grounds were absolutely immaculate and had every amenity you would need, our room was modern and recently renovated and the bed was the comfiest hotel bed I’ve ever slept on! The staff were all so accommodating and friendly, the included dolphin feeding was an amazing experience, and all of our tours and activities were super fun and good value for money! Will definitely be coming back again for another holiday :)
