59 Cardigan Place, Albert Park VIC 3206, Australia
Restaurant
•An Albert Park fixture for over five years now, Lord Cardigan is a bright, light-filled and sophisticated spot for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Within the restaurant-filled leafy suburb, Lord Cardigan stands out as being a particularly stylish and delicious place to fill one’s belly. Of course, apart from being an elegant establishment, it’s obvious Lord Cardigan has a sense of fun about itself. How could you not, being named after a “vain” and “notorious rake” who led his brigade to a stunning defeat, whose preferred woollen attire now covers the torsos of hipsters everywhere. Hilarious namesake aside, Lord Cardigan really is an Albert Park favourite for a reason. Namely, that’s thanks to the husband and wife team’s commitment to high-quality Australian/Euro cuisine, and affable, warm service. Chef (and husband) John Singer is dedicated to delivering dishes that “remain in the memory and linger on the tastebuds”, while on the floor Dominique Bolger greets and laughs with customers. As a function venue, Lord Cardigan is a versatile and lovely space. Corporate events, weddings, event dinners, birthdays and business lunches are all easily housed within Lord Cardigan’s walls. Besides that, the restaurant regularly holds degustation nights, for an evening out that’s a little unique. Lord Cardigan sits on Cardigan Place in Albert Park, near where Bridport Street becomes Victoria Avenue. So it’s right in the cafe/shopping action of that particular picturesque neighbourhood. To get there from the city, just catch the 1 tram along Swanston Street and it’ll take you just about to the door.
For smaller functions, half of the venue can be offered for dining groups of up to 20 people. Stylishly chic, this restaurant venue is smart without being stuffy. Classic bistro-style dark-wood tables fill the space, dressed with white line...

I highly recommend this restaurant! As a coeliac I always worry about cross contamination etc but the owners ensured that everything I ate was safe. The gluten free food was delicious and the service was amazing. Can’t wait to return!
Wow this place in Melbourne city is a must try!! It has everything with ambience, service and amazing steaks with lovely texture and wine even Gordon Ramsay would enjoy it. 10 stars guys great work 👏 👌
What an awesome experience! Great dishes, great company, great service. Would love to return to try the other dishes, since we all ordered the same main!
Dined for dinner. I had the prawn/calamari for entree, lamb rump for main & we shared the passionfruit souffle for dessert. Food was tasty & service friendly. Side note for anyone wanting to dine here with gourmet traveller giftcards, they didn't work due to issue that the terminal name for the restaurant is different to their trading name, very frustrating, so whilst we choose this restaurant from the participating restaurants menu, we had to pay the expensive bill from our own pocket due to redeeming voucher issues.
Amazing food 10/10. The atmosphere was calm yet lively. Service was good. Would return too in the future
