Had such a lovely wining and dining experience on our Staycation in the Dandenong Ranges. Lovely neighbourhood wine bar with a well thought menu. We dined last year so the menu has changed but thoroughly enjoyed our dishes. The drinks were fantastic too. - Duck liver parfait, roasted cornbread, cherry chutney ($14ea) - Wagyu beef brisket skewer, salsa verde, pickled shallots ($11ea) - Longfin tuna carpaccio, smoked cream, ponzu dressing, white radish ($24) - Seared bass Strait scallops, lemon tarator, charred corn salsa, rice crisps ($25) - Slow cooked pork belly, sweet corn puree, apple & blackberry chutney, shimeji, charred greens ($39) - Saffron risotto, blue swimmer crab & prawn, mascarpone, lime, dill & crispy capers ($34)
Wonderful experience for our post-wedding family dinner. The set menu was extensive and included a 48 hour slow cooked beef short rib. More than enough food across the three courses for 12 people and superb service throughout the night. The madeleines were a lovely touch to end the night. Highly recommend and will definitely be returning!
Very disappointed with our shared lamb shoulder for $86. It was mostly fat and bone, and challenging to carve off what little meat there was. Barely enough for a single serve. We weren't asked "how is everything" at any point. When our plates were removed and we commented, the response was simply that the chef would be let known. The $27 prawn entree was also disappointing, with the meat difficult to extract. The sparkling water first served was flat. Not up to par with several past experiences. See the photos. See the difference.
Imo this is one of the best restaurants in the surrounding belgrave area. Great food, with an ever changing menu. Friendly owners and staff, nice place for a night out. Definitely try the cheesecake too.
Whilst staying in the Hills for a month we wanted to try out this Belgrave restaurant led by an ex Donovan team. The Sunday roast did not disappoint. Probably the moistest roast chicken I’ve ever had and I NEED that beetroot salad recipe. Food was amazing, atmosphere nice and service was good. The server we had was very knowledgeable and provided good suggestions. I’d happily drive her from Melbourne for the Sunday roast. For the quality and quantity of food $60 was great value.
