Pub
•Penny’s has long been a staple pub of Brunswick - live music, a huge beer garden and a familiar atmosphere. And it’s familiar, sure, but there’s been enough change to give it its own, new identity - perfect for events large and small. Tex-mex food influences meld with our history as a grungy rock’n’roll pub, permeating through our overall feel, fit-out and menu. We’re cosy but cool. Edgy but approachable. Come check us out.
Local pub with a couple of park-style tables outside in front of the pub and huge beer garden at the back. Inside you have a stage for what we think live bands perform and there is also a small pool table. For the food we took on their offer of 3 appetizers for $45. The Buffalo wing had decent sauce, the popcorn cauliflower also not too bad. The best thing about it all is actually the generous portion. Pub appetizers tend to be small but these are truly great to share! Kids Margherita was a little disappointing as the base/dough was very thick and feels like an overkill after couple slices. Friendly service. Decent sized meal for price. Pirate Life on tap for win.
Great large venue. 3 main sections - front of house, back room & beer garden further out back. Unsure if there are other toilets, but lots of stairs to get to main toilets, so not ideal if you have a disability. Not a huge selection of wines at the bar. No Riesling & No Moscato. Love that there’s live music to support local acts. Loved getting to see @demie.music playing originals & a few covers. Food available at very reasonable prices, averaging $20,
Superb friendly service and atmosphere. With an amazing indoor open fire, live music, concert stage, centre room and outdoor area. Jason the manager was very helpful and friendly keeping the open fire burning. The food was delicious and substantial and the drinks are the best value in Melbourne
The sun was out and these guys had Thursday night $25 steak night and a beer garden, so we thought we'd give it a go. We certainly weren't disappointed! The steak was a little fatty on the ends but besides that it was super tender, cooked well and came with a very generous serving of either chips & salad or veggies & mash and your choice of sauce. We also timed it with their very generous happy hour (5-7pm) which was $10 selected pints, $8 house wines and $12 selected cocktails. The staff were friendly and the venue had a cool vibe, with plenty of different places to sit.
