It is a large place with a lot of space but there are often tables very close together. It is also quite noisy but clean and friendly. There is a great variety of foods in the buffet. There's a lift from the ground floor to the buffet as well as a staircase.
The all you can eat is great The foods hot and fresh, they are always replenishing it. The desserts change a little each visit giving variety. We travel 1hr to get here. The only downfall is the soft drink always tastes flat
Had the Feast Buffet, not bad for the money. Plenty of choices, food lacked flavour though. Sticky date pudding got dish of the day for us!👌
It would seem that good honest pub food is truly a thing of the past. There's no way I can recommend the fish and chips I had. I understand battering fish Frozen but to have over cooked batter and soggy wet freshwater fish the taste of mud, is more than just disappointing. It's not a reflection on the sheff. It seem so many hotels are focused on one thing. It certainly not the front bar, and it's certainly not the restaurant. It's the cash cow, pokies the rest is a facade. The pokies run basically 24 hours and no one can justify to me that someone would be in the right head space to make decisions about their finances at three o'clock in the morning on a Monday sitting in front of a pokey machine. But I guess the management can.
Had been a while since my last visit to the Middle, in other words Ferntree Gully Hotel. It was probably pre-Covid times. So I've now found out they run "Feast" a food buffet bistro with enough choices of food to please all tastes. Pizza, pasta, Asian, Roast, Seafood, Salads, and a good selection of both hot and cod desserts. It is not 5 star food but at $35 a head for adults, $15 per child, it is good decent quality. Particular favorites on the night I visited was the Sweet and sour pork, the butter chicken, the tiramisu and sticky date pudding. At that price a visit is definitely a good night out.
