35+ degrees in Melbourne and inside feels even hotter. No fan, no AC across the venue except minimal fans near the dance floor. Surely you are in breach of OH&S for your staff. Do not bother coming here if it's warm or hot, unless you want some heat stroke to go with it.
Had the best time here. Large group of 15+ and all meals were amazing and came out together. Drinks a bit pricey, but the atmosphere was great, a real honey tone vibe. Staff accommodated birthday cake and allowed the bull to stop so the entire place could sing happy birthday. Something for everyone with outdoor rooftop bar, pool tables, live band. Can't rate highly enough
Popped in here for lunch to check the place out finally, been wanting to for a while seeing as we have been to America and love the Western theme. The venue did not disappoint, very impressive, and the Blues Brothers esque stage looked awesome. Would love to see some more western style decor on the walls, but the waiter did say the bosses do have that In mind. The mechanical bull in the centre of the room is also a perfect addition. We were the first people in for lunch on a Friday, but more people soon filtered in. As for the food, everything was pretty good but we were disappointed with one thing that I will mention shortly. I had the beef burger with an extra patty and cheese for a challenge. Was very nice, meat was good and juicy. My partner had the buffalo chicken burger, also very nice. Chicken parma was also nice and juicy and a decent size. The only thing that dissapointed us was the 'Pie' of the day, not because of the flavour, it was lovely and moist. The thing that disappointed us was that it wasn't an American style pie, it was plain and simply, a cake. We were very keen to try this but ended up being caught in a little false advertising. For anyone that doesn't know a pie in america is: a dessert consisting of a filling (as of fruit or custard) in a pastry shell or topped with pastry or both. We were expecting the custard style. I really hope that Moon dog does do actual pies in the future. This could have been a one off. The staff were very friendly and loved to have a chat. All in all a great venue from what I can see and the 4 stars on the food is simply due to the 'great pie debacle' 😀
Venue is very spacious and has a unique vibe to it, there are pool tables, mechanical bull, it’s even fun to just explore all the areas of this building. Cocktails and shots are great, the food selection is decent but there is nothing too exciting unfortunately, the only thing I’d recommend are the fish tacos. Sauce station was full of empty or near empty bottles.
Has it been pulled together in a rush - yes Does it need refinement - yes Is it fun - yes Was it loud - on a Sunday pretty tame Was line dancing fun - hell yes Was the food good - average & expensive Did it arrive on time - Hell no…. (An hour for chicken ribblets, with some confusion) Were the staff good - yes Will I be returning in a rush - only for the line dancing… Some small improvements could really do this place a lot of justice
