Absolutely Amazing Experience! We had the most incredible dining experience at Balgownie Estate! The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Every dish was perfectly crafted, making our visit truly special. The service was outstanding, and we have to give a special shoutout to Grace, who went above and beyond to make our night unforgettable. She surprised us with complimentary champagne to celebrate our recent engagement, which was such a thoughtful and heartwarming gesture! The atmosphere was elegant yet welcoming, making it the perfect place for a memorable occasion. Thank you, Balgownie Estate, for such a fantastic evening—we can't wait to come back!

My friend and I spent a wonderful night at Balgownie Estate a few weeks ago. It started with a beautiful lunch out on the deck - gorgeous views, delicious food, a lovely glass of the local wine and even live music! The staff were so friendly and the service was fantastic - in particular Tamika, who, after hours, found a wrench and fixed our telescope! She went above and beyond. We will be back. We have just returned from this simply beautiful winery. The room was excellent and had everything we needed. The presentation of the wine tasting was great and made so much fun. The restaurant and the food could only be described as outstanding. What made our experience even better were the staff. Their service , their presentation and friendly attitude really made our stay very memorable. This is an outstanding first class venue and we would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of staying . To all the staff thank you.

The reception desk was staffed by 2 rude people. Not a great start. Our room was tiny, and offered a view of a wall. Paper thin walls, it turns out. We decided to make use of the indoor pool, and were left in amazement at how unkempt it was. The water level was low, cracked wall tiles, the jets for the pool didn't work. We skipped the restaurant dining as it was ridiculously priced. The buffet breakfast was delicious, but poorly staffed and clumsily laid out. Checkout was fun with yet another rude person at reception. What a way to spend a weekend. For the price we paid, it was very disappointing.

Our stay at Balgownie Estate was unfortunately let down by the hotel experience. After our first night, the cleaner who attended our room barely did anything—our bed was made in a way that looked like a lazy teenager had done it, towels weren’t replaced, and our rubbish was left behind. When we called reception to check, they confirmed that rubbish should have been taken. We were then ensured our room would be cleaned first the following day. The following day, our room wasn’t cleaned at all while we were out until lunchtime. When we asked about it, they wanted to clean at 3 PM—right when our kids were napping, which seems like an odd time for housekeeping. There was a strong drainage smell outside our rooms, which made coming and going quite unpleasant. After reading other reviews, it seems this isn’t an isolated issue. We also had a cockroach in our room—again, something surprisingly mentioned in another review, which suggests this is a recurring problem. On our last day, the pool heater wasn’t on, making it unusable for our toddler and baby. To their credit, reception staff were very responsive to our complaints, but they also mentioned that housekeeping is handled by a third-party company, which they don’t seem to have much control over. Interestingly, a family member staying in another room had a different cleaner who did a perfect job, so maybe we were just unlucky. Either way, for the price, we expected better.
