Had a fantastic Saturday afternoon at The Grace Darling Hotel in Collingwood. Loved relaxing on one of their comfy couches by the fire — perfect atmosphere for a laid-back weekend. The Guinness was spot on, and the house rosé was crisp, dry, and surprisingly good. Absolute highlight though: the hand-cut hot chips — perfectly cooked, golden, and finished with the most addictive salt. Great spot for a casual drink and snack with friends, with a cozy heritage pub vibe that makes you want to stay all afternoon. Highly recommend for anyone after good drinks, great food, and classic Collingwood grunge where anything goes. Check out videos for function areas where they have live bands.
Grace Darling is a new favourite for us. Casual dining with a varied menu and a good selection of beers😋. The food was delish and the service prompt and friendly.
We were walking by on Thursday night and noticed that it was a powerhouse steak night. Honestly, the meat was too chewy and stringy. The potatoes as you can see in the picture, not appealing at all. The salad was just too bland and oily. While the staff was friendly and the vibe was OK for a place like this, I don't think I'll ever come back.
Called in on Saturday afternoon for a drink, stood at the bar to be served. Another patron walked in after me, and then another. Two staff behind the bar, one busy doing cleaning. The other person behind the bar asked “who’s next?” - I said it was me, and she ignored me to serve the guy who walked in after me. Once she’d finished with him, she just moved onto the other guy. It’s pretty basic stuff - but clearly above her pay grade.
I hosted a fundraising event for a short film a few weeks ago and it was such a great evening and staff at the grace darling were so helpful and involved in setting everything up. I had never hosted an event before in my life so this was big for me, and it ended up being a success! The general vibe of the grace darling is just great in general!!
