Today, we booked this hotel for our family over the phone. We were charged $306 for one night, which we were happy to pay. During the booking, we specifically asked about private car PARKING, and we were told parking was available for $35 per day. I agreed without any issue. However, when we arrived at the hotel after a long drive with tired kids, a staff member named Jerry (who said he was the owner) told us the parking fee was actually $40. When we explained that we had already been quoted $35 over the phone, his response was disappointing. He said he did not care about what was told ONLINE or over the phone because he was the “owner.” Honestly, the extra $5 was never the issue. If I can pay $306 for a room plus $35 for parking, I could easily pay another $5. The real problem was the attitude and lack of respect for customer trust. In today’s digital world, guests have many better accommodation options available. Good customer service and honesty matter a lot. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I would not recommend this hotel to my friends, family, or business associates.

Booked a spa suite and the spa had a big crack in the base so couldn’t use it. The hand soap dispenser was empty. Also booked a later checkout which was fine but the tv in the room wouldn’t work after 10am which is the standard checkout time.

(Booking was made under my friend’s name. Stayed 10/7 - 14/7) Welcome from reception was lovely! The gentleman who checked us in has wonderful customer service skills. The location is amazing within walking distance to everything. Uber rides were very cheap (when needed, only due to wet weather). But I stayed here with my family a few years back. Goodness, the rooms are now looking very tired and need a refurb. Stains on the lounge, bathroom tub was chipped and ceiling looked very tardy. And the rooms were very dirty. Hair on the kitchen bench, the drawers inside the wardrobes were dirty/dusty and the space between the drawers and the wardrobe wall was so dirty. The carpet was so dusty and looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in months! And given its winter, it was disappointing that your sauna wasn’t working. This was always our first option when staying in Melbourne. Unfortunately since this stay, we’ll be looking elsewhere on our next visit.

The hotel was clean & staff very nice . Breakfast was nice too, just a few improvements needed in rooms (self contained ) if the client needs to wash their dishes a cloth would be handy, the bathroom floors were dirty from day 1 , windows were dirty. The shower curtain had orange mould at the bottom needed replacing . And let the client know that the self contained room was for disabled when booking . Tv in both Rooms reception was not working properly.

Had a great stay at Mantra Southbank Melbourne with our family of 4. The whole experience was comfortable and easy from the moment we arrived. The staff were all very friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay, which made a big difference when travelling with kids. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and in an excellent location close to everything around Southbank and the city. The atmosphere felt relaxed and family-friendly, and we really enjoyed our time there. Would highly recommend staying here and would definitely come back again.
