Overnight stay at the Mantra (paid by Qantas) after a flight cancellation. Super convenient shuttle transfer from airport to hotel. Not sure if that usually has a cost, but it's 24/7 and not too far away. Would be better if there was no shuttle required though and it was at the airport itself. Service was good from the one interaction we had checking in even though they would have been slammed with last minute hotel guests. Room was fine and bed was okay. Would be good to have a couple of streaming options available on the TV or at least all of the channels set up.
I didn't take any photos. The room was super average. We arrived at 9pm. We had to beg the chef to cook something for us. You would think a hotel that caters to Melbourne arrivals would organise food better. The staff member who booked us in was lovely. No on to take your bags up to your room. We had a burger each which was average and expensive. The breakfast was well awful. And again expensive! Packet scrambled eggs. Bacon wasn't cooked properly. Tomato was not cooked properly. Hardly any fruit. The coffee was cheap and bitter. Don't bother to buy the buffet breakfast unless you are happy with toast. * be careful in the bathroom. The floor is so slippery!!! Would I stay again. Definitely no. There is a free shuttle to the airport. The only bonus
Spent the night here, travelling for business. Nice clean room, comfy bed, good shower. Dinner was acceptable, and I wasn't expecting a fine dining experience. The porterhouse steak was great and perfectly cooked. Breakfast was as to be expected from a decent hotel, good range of hot food and cereals, toast fruit etc. 2 stars for service because I got a call from reception at 4:00am, by mistake apparently. I thought the worse had happened, a member of my family is very ill in hospital. No sleep after that! Note to all, take the phone off the hook.
Very nice, quiet and clean room, friendly helpful staff. The free pick up & drop off from the hotel is fantastic. Close to the airport, highly recommended if you have flight cancellation. The view was great from the early morning too. I checked out too early, so I couldn't have breakfast there as it was included in the price. The staff gave me the breakfast box instead, how wonderful is that, thanks
Landed 7pm. Stayed one night. Staff very friendly. Food was great. Thought the room was very clean till I had drop my phone and it had Slid under the bed looked under bed for my phone found medication (2 tables) took them straight to staff. Staff was very apologetic. The next morning house keeping had come into my room at 9.30am didnt knock. I herd the door shut so I got up to see. Open the door to housekeeping they asked me what time I was leaving. I explained to them I had a late check out of 2pm as I was flying out at 3pm this was spoken about and confirmed when I had checked in an confirmed with night staff. Housekeeping seemed a little annoyed. Do the front staff not commuicate with housekeeping? 11.30am front staff called my room asking when I was checking out. Also had to explain to them I was checking out at 2pm. Do night staff not do a handover in information to the morning staff? As I had late check out thought I would make housekeepings job a little easer an strip the bed ect. Due to the inconvenience of my late check out. I lifted the mattress to get the sheet off unfortunately found a needle. Wrap it in tissue and took it to staff. Once again very apologetic.
