I don’t normally leave negative reviews but unfortunately this place deserves it. I’ll start with the positives as I feel that is the fair thing to do. The rooms were decent, not great but acceptable and the reception staff were nice upon arrival. But everything from there fell very short. After my check in the reception staff were anything but helpful and seemed rather unconvinced be any questions I had and certainly didn’t want to help after check in. In additional to this I ate at the restaurant for 3 nights of my stay and each night I waited for over 60 minutes for my meal to arrive despite the restaurant being empty except for maybe 6-10 other patrons. The restaurant staff were horrible and didn’t want to acknowledge my existence, 2 out of the 3 nights I had to wave them down to be seated and I was treated like a 3rd class citizen. After ordering on two nights, after 10-15 minutes I was told that the restaurant didn’t have the ingredients for my meal and that it had been changed without my consultation. What if I had food allergies? When I questioned this I was told that if I didn’t pay it would simply be charged to my room. Each day I left a “do not disturb” hanger on my door only to come back to a room that had clearly been entered and cleaned. Not that this is a problem but when you put the hanger on the door you would expect no one to enter. I did this due to the fact that I had extremely expensive camera gear in the room and didn’t want staff in there while I wasn’t present. When I rang reception to confirm checkout times I was spoken to as though I was an idiot and should have known the checkout times. All in all I was very disappointed in the staff and service of the Mantra. I have stayed in many different Mangra facilities across Australia and never been treated this way before. Very disappointing!
The location is obviously convenient. Rooms were average at best. They look tired and were heavily stained. The TV was small and had no streaming ability which is inexcusable in this day and age. Even the most basic motel room now has the ability to stream Netflix, Stan etc. The free to air TV reception was very poor quality. Restaurant was fine, limited choice but acceptable without being outstanding. Car parking was good.
Check in so so easy, room was lovely and was just what i needed somewhere nice to relax. rooms nice and dark if you shut the curtains its great if you need sleep during the day for different hour flights. Went down for a sneaky drink and the barman is a beautiful man and very very funny which was great to break up a long trip to Melborne
Good option is out here for a cancelled flight. Room service / food is alright. Rooms are clean and modern. Shuttles very easy to get on and runs constantly 24/7. The gym is 0700 to 2200 so if your flight cancellation is late you might not be able to get into the fitness centre.
Checked in at 10:30 pm as our flight was late. Easy access from the airport, great location. Good breakfast, good that airport droop and pick was complimentary but as an airport hotel Room service needs to be 24 hrs. I had order food before 11 pm because room service closed at 11 pm and I got 3 years kids who don’t have anything to eat. Requested for kids meal but staff said not available after 9:30 pm. So my 3 years old son sleep without eating. Management needs to look into it . They can provide pizza until 11 pm but not the kids meal.
