Olympic Room

The Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), also known simply as "The G", is an Australian sports stadium located in Melbourne.

The ground primarily plays host to the Australian Football League and international Cricket matches however other major sporting events including Soccer, Rugby Union, Boxing Day Test match, Rugby League and concerts are also staged at the venue. 

It even served as the centrepiece stadium of Australia's sporting history - the 1956 Summer Olympics, the 2006 Commonwealth Games and two Cricket World Cups: 1992 and 2015.

With a total capacity of approximately 45,000, this structure set many benchmarks for the construction of sporting stadiums in Australia. 

There are two train stations close to the MCG: Jolimont is north of the ground and Richmond on the southeastern side of the MCG. Tram routes that run near the MCG include No. 75, No. 48 and No. 70. Taxi ranks are at the front of the Pullman Hotel, Outside Rod Laver Arena & Jolimont Terrace.
