Melbourne does a rooftop venue well. They seem to be cropping up everywhere, aren’t they. It’s a very good thing in our opinion - after all, Melbourne’s a mighty nice city to look at from up above. Sitting atop Chapel Street is one of the newer (and most ready-to-be-discovered) rooftops in the ‘hood - the Mission Caters Rooftop.
The Mission Caters Rooftop is a part of the Prahran Mission. For those not in the know, Prahran Mission offers training and employment to people who haven’t been able to finish their education, or who’ve struggled with mental illness. Alongside a dedicated and professional hospitality crew, really, really good food is served up while social barriers and stigma are knocked down.We think that’s pretty great. Besides that though, the Mission Caters Rooftop makes for a swell function venue. The top level of the building is split into two wings - both with spacious adjoining balconies from which to take in Melbourne’s view.
The Mission Caters Rooftop is found atop the Prahran Mission building, found on Chapel Street between High Street and Greville Street. That of course, is smack bang in the heart of Prahran’s action. There are a number of trams rolling around day and night, and Prahran train station’s a short walk away.
