Gorgeous restaurant, with food and service to match. The food is exceptional. Try the Sardine Foccacia Fingers! Our booking was 11:30am (right on opening time and we had to be out by 1pm for a show), so very appreciative to all staff for making it such a wonderful and relaxed time. I’ll definitely be back for a date night and probably organise a group lunch - everyone needs to experience this place!
My colleague and I went for a drink and dinner. We were truly blown away by the food, beverages, and customer service. The burrata, focaccia, and gnocchi were delicious, and the dessert was next level. The portion of the food was generous, and the girls who were serving us were so friendly. It's definitely my go-to place after work. :)
Popped by for lunch and we weren’t disappointed - all were happy with meals that packed a punch (good portions too). We did notice took a little longer for meals although we got there before peak lunch hour. The heaters ensured all were warm (thank you!)
Overall very poor experience. Booked for dinner before a comedy show. On arrival we were directed to the upstairs for our booking, once upstairs the hostess was much more interested in tapping her pen, than looking up towards the entry lucky the bartender acknowledged us and got the hostess attention she took us to our table, tapped the QR and said as walking away order here or at the bar. Atmosphere has the potential to be fantastic but being a seated table trying in enjoy a light dinner surrounded by standing people is a little off putting. The wait staff are pretty good and friendly. Food was pretty average and over priced. The fries were pretty good and the reason I gave 3 stars instead of less.
Just had a drink while waiting for comedy club downstairs to open but will definitely come here for a meal, a very warm inviting place and Aiden, barman fantastic service. Ordered Domain Chandon sparkling, he poured glass, said he thought it looked a bit flat and opened fresh bottle, guess what not every place does this. 11.4 went here for Comedy Festival show upstairs (hysterical, Akmal and Jimeoin together, genius) and had look at upstairs rooftop bar, so beautiful! Will definitely come here for a drink, so inviting. Morris House really has it all. 7.6. Finally came here for lunch. For entrees 2 of us shared vegetarian offerings of mushroom arancini and fried houlami while meat eaters had prosciutto with bread and mini prawn rolls. Then for mains, 2 had steak, husband had salmon and I had vegetarian gnocchi. And we also ordered side of chips, which was quite large. In fact I had to take half my gnocchi home as I couldn't eat but mistake because completely leaked through container provided, nylon tote bag I'd put that in and cardboard bag I put that in. So 3 layers, and had to throw them all out. So maybe Morris House plastic food containers? Also drinks, Proseccos, red wines and beer and coffees (decaf soy lattes, flat white and lattes). Also 2 ordered dessert, raspberry cheesecake and yes I tried and yes delicious. The food here is outstanding and I would come back. I actually love Morris House, the layout, the old world decor, the comedy shows, the restaurant and the rooftop bar. If I could stay here I would.
