•The lavish Spice Market takes its inspiration from the ancient Spice Route travelled by traders of old and has been exquisitely furnished to reflect this famous journey from Asia Minor through to the Far East.
Honouring the Melbourne tradition of laneways and discovery, Spice Market is entered from Beaney Lane, off Russell Street, a laneway that sits between the Louis Vuitton store and the Grand Hyatt Melbourne Hotel.
Upon entering the subterranean world of Spice Market, you are transported to a more exotic time and place. Owners, Dean & Geremy Lucas, travelled the world collecting antiques, unique furniture and objects of art, combining them with luxe fabrics, abundant colour, and handcrafted ceramic and glass mosaics, all rich in every detail.

I had my birthday party here with my friends, and even though it was salsa night, they kindly offered us a spot for free. They also gave us free shots and a special cocktail for my birthday. I don’t know the name of the manager, but this message is especially for you—you made my night! Thank you for your kindness, smile, and support. You are absolutely an amazing human being!
We had a good surprise finding this place last night . The dj wasn't good but we had fun , they cocktail are based on vodka if you don't like it don't go there . We haven't eat anything .
Depending on the DJ for the night, the music is generally very good. Doesn't get too crowded and the age range is from late 20s to 50+. It's Silk Road inspired giving it a beautiful exotic vibe. The drinks menu is extensive, making a great place for a celebration!
The Spice Market was an absoutely fantastic venue for a party. The food was exceptional quality and all staff were so friendly and professional, right from the outset. They thought of everything! Thank you for helping our night run smoothly. I highly recommend this venue for any celebration.
I came to Spice Market expecting a good night out, but unfortunately the experience was ruined by one of the security guards at the entrance. I didn’t catch his name, but his attitude was unnecessarily aggressive and unwelcoming. It felt like he was on a power trip rather than doing his job professionally. It really set the wrong tone for the night and made me feel uncomfortable before even stepping in. A venue with such a reputation should seriously reconsider how its staff treat guests. I hope management takes this feedback seriously. Hospitality starts at the door.
