•First opened as Watson’s Hotel, a double-storeyed building constructed on the main Road frontage circa 1887 for Christopher Watson, the Eltham Hotel has social and historical significance as an important meeting place within the Little Eltham township. With additions and/or extensive rebuilding during the First World War period and later, The Eltham Hotel has been a local landmark on this site for more than a century. The building as it is today dates from the 1920s and/or later and was the meeting place in the 1950s of Eltham’s artists, intellectuals and (other) mud brick builders, who were developing a distinctive local lifestyle at that time. At The Eltham Hotel we offer two great spaces catering for different groups, sizes and budgets. Whether your next event is a birthday, engagemen

I came here with a group of about 16 people. They had no trouble accommodating us as the place is rather spacious. There was plenty of car parking also on this Saturday afternoon. I had the fish and chips with a side of salad. The chips were done as I liked them and the two large pieces of fish were nice also. Salad and dressing were enjoyable. Staff were friendly and came to check several times to make sure all our orders had been fulfilled. As pubs go, it was well ventilated and there were no unpleasant odors.
Had a great experience dining with the family here. Bistro was very well presented, staff were friendly and the vegan food was solid! Will be back
The Eltham Hotel does a fantastic $20 parma and pot deal on a Monday to Thursday. If you come in between 11-2 on those days you can get a fantastic parma (one of the best in the north east) and a drink for a very reasonable price at the sports bar. Only thing would be the service needs improvement.
Came down on a Thursday before grand final eve to watch a great band. Happy days! Went to order dinner at 8:31 to be told the kitchen closes at 8:30???? Absolutely poor. You had an opportunity to build up the patronage and completely dropped the ball. Do better!
Have gone to the Eltham Hotel a few times recently after not being there for a while, and there's a big improvement with the quality of the food. All of our meals have been well cooked, were tasty and great value. The new table service is appreciated, and the staff always friendly and helpful. Our only complaint is that the dining room is a bit bright, some mood lighting would be appreciated, but we will still keep coming back for the food. 🙂
