The building as it is today dates from the 1920s and/or later and was the meeting place in the 1950s of Eltham’s artists, intellectuals and (other) mud brick builders, who were developing a distinctive local lifestyle at that time. Certainly! Here’s a glowing review based on your experience: A Truly Magical Christmas Lunch at The Eltham Hotel We had the most wonderful Christmas lunch at The Eltham Hotel, and it exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and festive, setting the perfect tone for the holiday season. The food was absolutely perfect—every dish was hot, fresh, and bursting with flavor. It was clear that great care and attention went into each course, making for a truly memorable dining experience. The service was exceptional. The staff were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure everyone was well taken care of. A special shout-out to Sanna, who made the occasion even more special with her warmth and hospitality. The cherry on top was the thoughtful gift for all the children, which added an extra touch of magic to the day. It was truly the most perfect Christmas lunch, filled with joy, laughter, and impeccable service. We left with full hearts (and full stomachs!) and can’t wait to return next year. Thank you, Eltham Hotel, for making our Christmas celebration so memorable! Feel free to adjust or add any personal touches!
We enjoyed our son's 30th birthday in the Watson function room earlier this year!! Finger food options were great, especially the pumpkin arancini, veg empanadas and chicken satay skewers. Food was beautifully presented and delicious. The room is the perfect size for 20 to 30 people and was a lovely venue very well prepared for us. Our dedicated barman, Blake was exceptional. He was extremely helpful, pouring drinks and handing around platters too. Thanks to Brendan and the team for a great experience! 😁
Service was great, smiling and helpful friendly staff. A few things to be on top of: - one of the mens toilet doors had no lock on it. (Bit unsettling if your doing a number 2) - No foam soap in the mens toilet soap dispenser - No sanitiser in the sanitiser station at bottom of ramp landing Otherwise a lovely experience 🙂
Staff were friendly and initially welcoming. The food was great, fresh and tasty typical pub menu. Table service was promised but we seemed to be forgotten for the night, a table of 10. We had to go to the bar each time for drinks orders and request for someone to take our orders and clear the table periodically between courses, as glasses and plate were cleared. If rheumatologist table service was more attentive, we would definitely have given 5 stars and left a generous tip for the staff. Maybe next time.
