Welcome to Thornbury is hard to miss with its retro sign welcoming guests to their next function. The venue offers a progressive, festival vibe to any function held with us due to the diverse offerings. It is the second-largest beer garden and the only permanent food truck park in Melbourne, with different food trucks rotating on a daily basis. There'll also be a whole host of beers on tap, as well as craft beers and delicious cocktail jugs to share.
Upon entry, there is the Distiller, a fully-functional distillery, known for Grainshaker Vodka and Ned’s whiskey. Towards the back of the venue is our beautiful warehouse space ‘The Greenhouse’ – greenery hangs above with polished concrete floors, festoon lighting and wooden finishings. Our Good Times Arcade is the perfect place for the big kids with over 40 retro arcade games. Lastly is our main bar & beer garden with two bars and cover throughout to cater to Melbourne’s ever-changing weather!

Our company had our Christmas party here, the staff were lovely. The food was okay, and drinks were good. Music atmosphere was 50/50 but overall great place to hold a work party.

When entering you’re met with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with lots of colour and plants. Ordering a drink here will set you back a bit and it’s quite hard to order within a price range with there being no price list for the bar. The food is good with moderate servings but nothing to boast about and again will set you back a bit. Overall a pretty good place to come with friends or family offering something for everyone but could be improved in some areas.

Amazing atmosphere. Very busy with loads of folk. Mainly private groups taking up the best spots. Id recommend booking in advance no matter your number as we couldn't get in arcade or find inside seating .

Although the venue seems awesome, with loads of space and stuff to do while enjoying a beverage, the food trucks seem very average and indeed the Wednesday offer was somewhat misleading. To explain: When we went to the food truck branded Mr. Burger, we were expecting to use an offer for 2-for-1 burgers. Sounds good right? Except when we ordered and paid (I couldn't see the transaction amount as it was in direct sunlight) we then asked why we were charged for 2. The lone staff member working the food truck simply told us it didn't include what we ordered - no offer to refund or change our order was offered. We let it go, but given these terms were not advertised I'm comfortable calling it misleading advertising, that could have been fixed if the staff member wasn't stressed because they were stuck on their own. It was around this point that I noticed we were charged by the venue, so there really isn't any excuse here. The lone staff member at the bar was quick and efficient, but again didn't seem to really be enjoying the evening that much. The food options overall were there, but lacks pub classics. Our burgers took 30 minutes to be prepared, mainly because the staff member there was on their own, and trying to cook up enough meals to match the 2-for-1 offer. The actual burgers and fries were pretty nice, but nothing amazing. TL;DR: Good venue, but not enough staff to manage the advertised specials. The offer also has exclusions we were not made aware of when ordering, and no fix was proactively offered. Due to understaffing, food took far longer than expected, and staff weren't the happiest. I'll happily try coming back here on a Friday or Saturday evening when there's proper staffing and food options, but on weekdays I'll be avoiding this place.

We had our wedding here, and the staff were very accommodating! Annaleise was wonderful to work with in coordinating our big day. She was always reachable in the lead-up to the event to answer any questions we had, and the whole process was very smooth. We did a few non-traditional things, and they were more than happy to help facilitate our bar ceremony, as well as our board game night at the end. Our puzzle hunt/escape room also fit perfectly into the space, and having access to the arcade let our guests have a blast! The in-house catering was delicious, and we felt the pricing as an event was very fair. There was a small venue hire fee with an food spend minimum (which we easily hit by virtue of having the event itself). We picked this venue because we're bougie and Melbourne af, and this place is 100% that vibe!
