Yorkshire Hotel is an old reliable pub, recently brought hurtling into the world of modern-day cool by way of a sophisticated dining room, a kick-ass menu, and a bit of a refitting inside. Luckily for the pub’s legion of regulars though, the unpretentious nature and slightly grungy feel of the surrounding ‘hood hasn’t completely been lost. So, The Yorkshire is “all good in the hood” (to use the parlance of our times) for both formal dining, pub grub at the bar, as well as a relaxing brew in the beer garden with mates. The Yorkshire - mental images of impenetrable northern accents cast aside, please - is filled with old-world features like open fireplaces, an old-style front bar, and leather seats. That said, there’s enough modern style to mean the pub is certainly cool enough to appease the hip amongst us. The Yorkshire’s menu is an ever-changing and evolving one, and the hotel regularly hosts dining events, as well as live music. But just to inject a bit of Abbotsford grunge into proceedings (and really, isn’t that something we all adore), there’s also a bottle shop open until late. The Yorkshire Hotel is found along Hoddle Street, on the corner of Langridge Street. Which of course, is a short walk from North Richmond train station, as well as the 109, and 12 tram lines. Let’s hear it for convenience and main roads!
