Aerial is a well-established venue has been a primary event space on the South Wharf precinct since 2014. The venue is beautifully developed s a premium space for events ranging from social to corporate occasions, product launches and Aerial boasts memorable views of the CBD and was purpose designed by renowned female architecture firm MEME. Guests arrive at ground level into the atmospheric foyer, drawn up the sweeping central staircase into the elevated cocktail area. Modern and elegant, the arrival bar gives a grand first impression, with shimmering white marble floors and striking gold detail. The venue boasts tall windows in the soaring dining room that provides panoramic 180-degree views across Melbourne's skyline and glistening river. Aerial is managed by the award-winning team, Showtime Event Group, Melbourne's leading event venue and catering company.

Got married here in April 2025. Unfortunately, our experience with the venue was disappointing from start to finish. Our assigned wedding coordinator Rose was consistently unresponsive and disorganised — and wasn’t even present on the wedding day. We had very minimal requests and a simple wedding. The only specific request we made was for coffee to be served in paper cups so guests could take it outside. On the night, no one seemed aware of this, and we were then told by the manager Tessa that South Wharf DFO doesn’t allow it. This was clearly untrue, as after I continued to raise the issue, it was suddenly possible. The staff were blaming each other rather than taking accountability and resolving the issue. The bartender was extremely rude, ignoring guests and then threatening to kick people out for approaching the bar for service. Lots of our guests complained about him. I wish I remembered his name because honestly he was the perfect example of how not to behave as a staff member. The food on the night was noticeably worse — and served cold — compared to the tasting. The elevator also broke down which caused grief for our elderly guests. No apology or compensation was offered. Retrieving our belongings became unnecessarily difficult. We still didn’t receive some of our items afterwards because we couldn’t be bothered dealing with the incompetency. The only positives were the aesthetic of the venue itself and the server assigned to the bridal table, who was absolutely incredible and genuinely saved the night. If I was a manager reading this and the many other negative reviews of this place, I would take some time to evaluate whether this level of service is acceptable for any event, let alone a wedding. Bartender needs to go. Wedding planner and event manager need some proper training big time. Overall, the entire experience felt far more difficult than it needed to be. I wouldn’t recommend this venue for your wedding day — save yourself the money, stress and disappointment, choose somewhere else other than this circus. Showtime events? More like Showtime Shambles.

Came here for an industry dinner. Fairly typical venue; good view. Minimum table service for drinks, most patrons need to go to the bar for drinks. Of note is they failed to serve a meal to one of the tables. I would not recommend this event space.

Exceeded every expectation! Food & Desire made our wedding day so wonderful at their venue Aerial. The process from start to finish was easy, working with their event coordinators and venue managers. The organisation and service of all the staff is high quality, they were so accommodating and enthusiastic for our special day. The food was fabulous, our guests raved about the taste and freshness, plus we had a special ice cream bar that Food & Desire willingly organised for us, that our guests loved! We couldn't have asked for a better wedding venue. Highly recommend Food & Desire at Aerial, their service and quality of catering is beyond wonderful.

Lovely venue in the heart of Melbourne. I had the pleasure to shot a wedding being held at Aerial and everything was amazing. The decor looked fantastic, the staff was friendly and attentive and most importantly the couple was so happy enjoying their party!

Our daughter had her wedding here in March 2021. We, as a family couldn’t have been happier with the service, venue, food and ambience. We chose a Sunday night, so had a full bar special.
