Chic upscale bar serving modern Western dishes with a little fusion of Asian and Latina flair. The entrees and smaller plates are better than the mains that we ordered. The gnocchi main was heavy and better to be shared with other people. The steak was a little tough to my liking. All the other dishes are great, with notable mentions for the calamari and the taco. The service is not bad, and the place, as I mentioned, is intimate and chic, perfect for a date night. They also have more indoor seating toward the back of the restaurant. Food - 7 Service - 7 Vibe - 7 Price - $$$

With a baby due on a few weeks, an early Saturday evening dinner was exactly what we were after. We had a table my the window and the service during our visit was excellent. We asked for some recommendations/personal favourites and combined with the dishes I had already spied, we shared a few starters followed by a main and sides and it was perfect.

We recently celebrated my husband's birthday at Mr. L's Bar and Restaurant in South Yarra, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish! The service was warm and attentive; they even surprised me with a custom cocktail tailored to my taste as a lovely complimentary touch. The food was outstanding. We died for the focaccia and bone marrow—truly unforgettable. The calamari was perfectly cooked and full of flavour. For mains, we had the beef cheek and gnocchi, and both dishes were incredibly rich, tender, and delicious. Highly recommended for a special night out or any occasion. We'll definitely be coming back!

I’ve been to Mr L’s many times now because everything about this venue is 5 stars! Food: All their dishes are fantastic but my two favourites are by far the crispy skin barramundi and 12hrs braised beef cheek they just melts in your mouth. 👏😋 Service: Selina is an absolute star. Always welcoming, friendly and attentive. Elise is also a gem. They are lucky to have such great staff. The kitchen runs smoothly & efficiently, I’ve never had a a long wait for their spectacular dishes. Highly recommend!

Went for the Sunday high tea several months ago which included six sweet and three savoury bites, a glass of sparkling wine and bottomless tea. Was seated in the dining room which had a casual vibe; they also have standard lunch service during the high tea session. For the savoury items, the egg sando had a nice truffle flavour and was quite substantial, cured salmon crumpet was also pretty good with a generous amount of salmon, but the seafood roll was quite dense and didn't have enough filling. As for the sweets, the donut and the chocolate hazelnut mousse were the highlights, especially the donut which was freshly fried and fluffy inside, though I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be served with some sort of jam. The macaron and the lemon meringue tart were decent, the blueberries on the cheesecake didn't look the appetising, and the matcha cone has a nice nutty flavour from the black sesame but was also quite salty, overpowering the sweetness of the cream. The tea selection was basic and you have to ask the staff what tea is available as there was no tea menu provided. Overall the high tea experience and food was ok.
