•Established in 1854, the Toorak hotel has been a historic watering hole in the Toorak and Hawksburn area. The iconic corner building has lived a few lives and seen many different names over the years, with Toorak Hotel now taking rank and marking a new era for the 19th-century establishment.
Toorak Hotel is your local gastro pub, servicing seasoned regulars with a menu that flits between your classic pub fare and an elevated contemporary Australian offering. With many different spaces under the one roof, including a public bar for punters to enjoy a game of footy, and a spacious dining room for families to come together over a hearty meal, all are welcome at Toorak Hotel.

Wednesday is $30 steak night. I was impressed with the interior of the restaurant which was fancier than I expected for a pub. The service however was pretty atrocious; staff were walking around aimlessly yet no one came to take our order, no one ever offered us water for the glasses that were on the table and we were ignored by several staff members who stared at us blankly upon arrival without asking if we wanted a table or had a reservation. Food wise the steak was very average and definitely not medium rare as requested. The chips were nicely seasoned and the mac and cheese croquette entree was pleasant enough but definitely not somewhere I will return in a hurry
The team at the Toorak Hotel are outstanding. We have had multiple events both upstairs and downstairs. The food was delicious, the quantities were perfect, the staff were so obliging, and the atmosphere was perfect for each event. Highly recommend.
My wife and I decided to stop by the Toorak Hotel for lunch on a whim, and we couldn’t be happier with our choice! We both ordered the Lunch Steak Special at $30 each, and it was absolutely delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the overall experience was fantastic. If you're craving a quality steak at lunchtime, this is definitely the place to go. We'll be back for sure! While the atmosphere was a little quiet for a Monday lunchtime, it didn’t detract from our enjoyment.
The pub looks a little tired but the service and food offering are as good as any. Cocktails are varied and mostly revolve around classics or twists on them. The spicy margarita is nice and, to my pleasant surprise, actually pretty spicy. The parma is a generous size for the price and pretty high quality. The prawn pizza was also good and great value at only $20 during their Thursday night pizza special.
Delightful corner hotel with exceptional service. The cheeseburger extremely tasty and didn’t disappoint. The veal schnitzel was just ok but in saying that l would still come back and try other items on the menu. Ordered a stout but received a pale ale.. perfect mistake as the pale ale was a nicer drop and bonus l got to keep both. Bonus they have very clean toilets. (See photos)
