The Harbour Master
There is a hidden little gem called the Harbour Master restaurant on the ground floor of the Esplanade Hotel Fremantle by Rydges. The Harbour Master derives its name from the first owner of the Hotel site, Captain Daniel Scott, who arrived in Fremantle in 1829 and became Harbour Master until his retirement in 1851. Captain Scott leased the Hotel site to the Government as a temporary convict establishment to assist in housing the first arrivals. This theme very much sets the scene for the decor for this restaurant with historic images of Fremantle Harbour and surrounds thoughtfully installed on the windows and walls to highlight the link between the development of the city and the evolution of this iconic Hotel site. The team of culinary experts will tempt your taste buds with a contemporary menu offering the best of local produce paired with a stunning variety of local and international wines from the walk in Wine Room.
