Great location and friendly staff at check in and check out. Unfortunately, the room cleanliness could have been better, with several areas not cleaned properly. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. The complimentary breakfast was average and could definitely benefit from more variety.
Good double insulated windows, so no street noise. 100% sunlight blocking blinds. Clean and comfy beds and soft pillows. Basic hotel amenities. Heater are great help for winter nights. One word, great value if you can get it for 100 a night
I stayed here in November last yea, the check in staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was suitable for me, but to share a room with my daughter and to have frosted glass as a wall doesn't give much privacy. But when the room is paid for you I'm not complaining to much. Look forward to my stay again this Tuesday.
The location is central so convenient although the entrance os down a dodgy looking side street, the sort you see in American tv where people.get ambushed. We were on the 8th floor quite high up but not much of a view, just Hertz car yard and the dirty roofs of nearby buildings. When we walked in the room it reeked of someone just using thr toilet, there appeared no extractor, the windows dodnt even open slightly to allow fresh air in. Breakfast was a joke. The only hot breakfast was bacon and what looked like powdered egg. I asked about vegetarian options, I was told "not today". Nothing hot for a vegetarian, no beans, mushrooms, no sausage for the non vegetarians. We sat in an area near the meeting room, and the black metal screens were absolutely filthy at the bottom, thick distance, bits of food there that looked like they had been there for ages. We stayed two nights and the second day the drain in the shower stank, again no way to get fresh air in. We returned to the hotel mid afternoon and the lobby area stank of drains ir sewage, not at all pleasant. So food was not really good. The place stank of drains or sewage, turn right out of the hotel and itooks like a dodgy alley where my wife said she would not feel.safe walking down at night. And not much of a view for a central city hotel. I'd rather have paid more for a nicer place
Loved my stay at Holiday Inn Express Adelaide. In a side street off Hindley street which is less than salubrious but there is nothing about the hotel that I didn't like. My room on the 6th floor was well laid out and had everything you needed. Great fridge to keep your drinks cold. Excellent shower pressure and temp. Writing desk, built in arm chair and ottoman gave a lot of flexibility in the room. Big window to watch the world go by. A 3 min walk to all that Rundle Mall has to offer, 3 min to the station, bus and light rail stops. Quiet hotel and blackout blinds were excellent. Notoriously a noisy street but didn't hear a single sound nor see a light from outside which gave a great sleep. Choice of pillows and plenty of coat hangers. Now breakfast. Some people complain about breakfast but if you can't find something to eat you're pretty fussy. Eggs, bacon, beans, croissants, muffins, fruit and cereal, hot drinks and three juices. Anywhere that has tropical juice like they did is a friend of mine! No notes for this one. Had a fab stay at a great price (join ihg rewards for member prices on line). Will stay again whenever I need a safe, comfortable, well located spot.
