Don't know what the rooms are like didn't stay there. Went a meal in the Grand Bar which was very under par. I ordered pork snitty with mushroom sauce. $31. The snitty was small and underwhelming, I questioned if they had forgotten and given me half serve. No that's normal I'm told. And the tiny cup of gravy was $3. Salad was dry and bland. Yes in the photo I have cut two small corners off. You would be lucky if it covered 1/4 of the plate Flavour was mmm ok but I won't be running back to try again. Daughter ordered chicken Parm and was refunded when it was realised the pineapple was off. Even the bar staff agreed it was rank. Great location but meals are very low class.

Parking is fairly pricey,$30 for the night, and very tight spaces, not ideal if you have a larger or taller vehicle. The bathroom is mostly clean. The room has a few areas that could be better attended. Location is excellent, very central. Balcony view is lovely. Unfortunately the room was very hot as the AC does nothing. Staff were capable and polite. The bed is comfortable, if a little soft. The mini bar pricing is steep, at $12 for a bottle of water. The breakfast was also a steep add on at $40 for 2. Overall a reasonable stay, with good facilities.

One night stay, with ocean view room. Room was very clean with a lovely view of the sea. Dinner and breakfast were included in our package. The restaurant was a bit tired looking but the food and service was great. Had a nice walk down Jetty Road and the jetty. Great location

The Stamford Grand Hotel Glenelg truly lives up to its name — it is absolutely grand. The beauty of the venue combined with the professionalism, hospitality and warmth of their staff makes it one of the most incredible places imaginable to host a wedding. Because of the immense effort, care and dedication from all the Stamford Grand Hotel staff involved — from the planning, preparation and coordination through to the flawless execution on the night — we would go so far as to give the entire experience of our wedding reception a Six-Star rating. Everything was simply perfect. The food was sensational and abundant, the service was impeccable, the atmosphere was joyful and elegant, and the memories created will remain with us forever. A massive thank you to Dilini, Wayne, Jamie and Paras and all of their teams for making our wedding day absolutely magical. It truly was magnificent, and we could not be happier with how beautifully the evening unfolded. Love & Warmest Regards, Z&J

It was very restful for us and we were so happy to be able to upgrade to a sea view balcony room and leave the door open at night to fall asleep to the waves dropping onto shore. But I miss the original old worldliness of the rooms. There are ways to upgrade without losing the old charm, but they are so sterile now. The Largs Pier don’t have a problem with their style. The hotel is looking tired and the shops alongside the hallway are empty. Makes me so sad - we spent our wedding night there 28 years ago and were there when it first opened. It really was Grand but Stamford have done it no favours since they took over. Our buffet breakfast was lovely though and the service was great…and at least the foyer is still Grand
