Reviews for Sofitel Brisbane Central

We stayed at the Sofitel Brisbane Central with our young family and came away thoroughly impressed. The location is hard to beat it sits right next to Brisbane Central Station, so getting around the city was effortless, and you’re only a short walk from Anzac Square and the heart of town. Our suite was a real standout. It was exceptionally large, with a separate lounge room and lovely views from both rooms. For a small family it worked perfectly, plenty of space to spread out, and somewhere for the little ones to settle without everyone being on top of one another. If your budget can stretch to it, I’d really recommend paying the extra for Club Millésime. The executive lounge has stunning views over Anzac Square and the Brisbane skyline, and it’s a relaxed, welcoming spot to unwind in from the afternoon through into the evening. The inclusions made a real difference to our stay, a welcome gift waiting in the room on arrival, breakfast down at Bistro Suzette, afternoon tea from 3 to 5, and evening drinks and canapés from 5.30 to 7.30. The late check out until 1pm was a small touch that made a big difference travelling with little ones, and there’s also use of a meeting room and fast wi-fi if you need to get a bit of work done. We had lunch at Bistro Suzette and it was fantastic. The all day dining is sophisticated without being stuffy, the service was impeccable, and there were plenty of options for the kids. The mussels and the steaks were a particular highlight and really excellent. The staff deserve a special mention too. Everyone we dealt with was warm and friendly, and the whole hotel has a welcoming feel to it. Given the level of service, we thought the price was fair as well. All up, a great stay and an easy one to recommend, particularly for a small family. Just spring for the Club Millésime experience if you can, it’s well worth it.

We stayed in a Cityscape room at Sofitel Central for 7 nights and would totally recommend, based on our experiences. After an early morning flight we arrived at the hotel hours before our due check-in: staff were delightfully welcoming and gave us access to our room immediately. This was very much appreciated as we’d were extremely tired. After a short rest we were able to explore and find our bearings in what was a first visit to the city. Door staff were consistently lovely in their efforts to help with transport on arriving and leaving the premises. And a big shout out to Liv who served us coffee and croissants each morning: she was particularly welcoming and helpful. The location is excellent! Everything is a short walk: good restaurants and cafes; Queen Street Mall with its high end retail and the stylish South Bank with its museums and theatres. And if you need an extra pillow or a blanket (as we did) it was promptly delivered after a brief request. We would return to Sofitel in a heartbeat🥂

Great location, very central and convenient. Unfortunately this is all I can compliment the hotel for. As a 5 star hotel, one expects a certain level of customer service and professionalism that was entirely absent from my experience at Sofitel. The receptionist checkin me in seemed to not be aware of check in processes and required my prompting her to proceed with check in. I requested my suit to be drycleaned/steamed in preparation for an event the following day. When I went to pick up the suit, the reception staff weren’t aware that I had even given my suit in. I had to painstakingly prompt them through all the steps in the process (is it with housekeeping? Is it with the external dry cleaning company? Could it have not been handed to the external dry cleaning company?) and eventually discovered that my suit was just sitting behind reception, not even sent for dry cleaning. To this the reception staff asked me why I hadnt prepared a spare outfit in case something were to happen to this one. Only after some insistence did I receive some compensation. Generally poor communication between team members. Does not inspire confidence in the guest and creates unnecessary stress. Rooms were decent, but dark and antiquated, amenities were barebones. Unless absolutely necessary I would recommend guests stay elsewhere. Very disappointing.

The hotel is in an excellent location and directly connects to the train station, making transportation incredibly convenient. However, the service was just average, and the facilities are quite dated. It is a decent choice if location is your top priority.

I’m here for a conference. I arrived in Brisbane the same day prior to the conference and still made it on time. It’s extremely easy to get to from the airport via the airtrain as it is connected to the central station. Check in was easy. Staff were very helpful. I left my belongings in the morning and then my belongings were sent to my room afterwards. I got given a pleasant upgrade to a high floor and great view. Thanks so much for such a wonderful experience. Will definitely return next time! PS the bed is so nice!
