Edit: Since posting this review and providing formal feedback to Accor, Pullman Port Douglas has provided a full refund for the stay. My experience at Pullman Port Douglas was incredibly poor. The check in was mediocre, with no recognition of my status with Accor hotels. We were shown on a map where our room was (Studio Spa Room), which I queried as it didn’t match the photos or description of the room type we had booked. I was subsequently told by Reception that the feature of the room was the spa, not the views depicted in the room listing. We went to the room, found it to be on the far end of the resort, tucked away in a remote corner of the property. The entrance/landing of the room had a strong smell of urine, and the room itself had a strong smell of bleach. The room was incredibly dark, with virtually zero natural light - a stark contrast to the listing, showing an abundance of natural light, views of the resort etc. We returned to Reception, noted our disappointment with the room, as it is not the room advertised. At an average of over $660 a night (including breakfast for two), it was incredibly overpriced for what it was - at least double what is reasonable. Reception confirmed that they were close to full capacity, and that if we wanted another room it would be a couple hours wait (this was already after 4pm). Reception could not confirm if this second room would/would not also smell of bleach, or have the views or natural light shown in the listing. I subsequently asked reception for the cost to cancel the stay completely, which I was informed would be 50% of the total stay. There was no budging to this, even though the property had not provided the room they had sold. As we felt uncomfortable staying at the property, we were lumped with an over $1300 cancellation fee. As someone who stays exclusively at Accor properties, the service was incredibly poor, and the hotel presentation had a lot to be desired for. Our purpose for the stay was to celebrate our “Baby-moon”, and turned out to be probably the worst hotel experience we have had. There is no question I will never be staying at this property again, and will strongly recommend against it to anyone I know.

Let me preface by saying that the missus and i are not actually staying at this resort, but have come by to check it out while we are in the area, and that Im not one at all to write reviews unless i genuinely believe that the place deserves more than a 5 star rating. Never before have we felt so welcomed. First falling in love with Sofia when we went to try out the breakfast. She was nothing if not absolutely beautiful not only as a person but as a Pullman representative. She took us on a tour of the resort, showed us the different rooms, and pretty much guaranteed that our next holiday to Port Douglas will be spent right here at the Pullman. It didnt take too much, but her smile and charm convinced us to come back for dinner, where we had the pleasure of meeting Daniela, who just like Sofia, delivered such a homely restaurant experience, we were genuinely sad we had to go back to our resort. Along with all the support staff, these two have made it a certainty that when we return, the Pullman will be our resort of choice. Well done team!!!

We stayed in a privately owned unit (159) within this complex as most seem to be. We had a swim up room which I’ve never experienced before. This is our 3rd visit to Port Douglas and first time we’ve stayed here, we usually stay at the Sheraton but it’s getting a little long in the tooth these days so decided on a change. I’m glad we did! The unit was well sized with 2 bedrooms and 2 Bathrooms. All the amenities in the kitchen including a washing machine and dryer. The swim up room with a little “river” running past which takes you to the main pool was great. The main pool area as well is huge with a limited amount of seating, although it was never full. The pool is huge and eventually goes to about 6feet deep. There is a seperate spa away from main pool area which unfortunately was overtaken by kids for most of our visit. We never had dinner at the restaurant but did have the buffet breakfast which was huge and well catered. Will definitely rebook on next stay.

A lovely resort with a boutique vibe. The pool and buffet breakfast were the highlights. Staff were lovely and the room was clean, comfortable and spacious. For context, we also stayed at the Sheraton the same week and the Pullman was better (pool was cleaner, rooms were more up-to-date).

Very welcoming staff on arrival. Room was Ok but woke up in middle of night to find floor was saturated. Spoke with Reception at 8am who said they would look into it and if same on my return from trip would change my room. On return the floor was still wet (plus patio doors would not open). Changed room but as clothes had been in a damp room all day they felt wet. Surprised I wasnt given an upgrade due to defective room. No real apology re my damp clothes. Swimming pool was lovely and really big, as hotel wasnt full was easy to get a sun bed. Another issue was room service, my room didnt have a table and therefore would have expected a tray to eat from (no cutlery also, had to ask). Very hit & Miss. Breakfast was great and I also loved the fact you could opt to not have room cleaned for AUD20 discount per day. Its quite a way from Piet Douglas but easy to get shuttle at AUD15 each way. I would stay again as staff were lovely pool was superb and food was pretty good and good price.
