I found the food significantly overpriced for the quality and originality offered. The $97 meat platter felt underwhelming, with items that reminded me of fast-food chicken, supermarket-style sausages, and pulled meat that appeared to be reused across multiple menu items. Even the “sandwich” was essentially a burger. The venue itself feels quite dated. While some may appreciate the rustic atmosphere, I personally found it more reminiscent of an old theatre than a premium dining establishment, and it didn’t give me the clean, well-maintained impression I would expect at this price point. The highlight of the experience was definitely the service. Both the waiter and waitress were friendly, attentive, and professional throughout the meal. Given my experience, I’m genuinely surprised by the venue’s large number of positive reviews and strong overall rating. Perhaps others have had much better experiences than I did, but my visit certainly didn’t reflect the reputation suggested by the online reviews. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning, but I wish the team all the best moving forward.

My first time here and my mate has raved about it for ages. I had the brisket burger and we shared a load of sides. The burger itself was nice but fairly basic. The sides were all quite expensive for what they were, I thought. Coleslaw at $14 for a small bowl was extortionate, the cheesy mac bites were nice, the chilli cheese fries were a bit soggy and lacking a lot of cheese and the southern fried chicken at $26 was way overpriced too. It was a good meal but I wasn’t overly full for $65+ and I think I should’ve been. The young English lass serving was very good. Nice looking venue inside with the smoky smells wafting through.

Holy mackerel!! When they say $86 a head for 7 dishes over 3 courses, what they really mean is “we’re going to feed you so much food that you’ll be doing a rendition of limp bizkit’s song “rollin’ “ as you attempt to leave.” Nothing but the highest of praise for both the front and back of house staff. Absolutely impeccable service and food. 10/10 will visit again.

Visited Le Bon Ton on a busy Saturday night without a booking and was pleasantly surprised to be seated right away, even with a function happening. The restaurant has a beautiful layout and a warm, lively ambiance that really sets the tone for a great meal. We ordered the smoked chicken, brisket burger, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and smoked broccoli — all were delicious, with generous portions that made it great value for money. The food was full of flavour and perfectly cooked. Service was friendly and efficient, though it would’ve been nice to be asked if we’d like another drink. Overall, a great dining experience and I’d definitely come back again!

I came in with a couple friends for a light meal and some drinks. Although we didn’t order much, the food was exceptional! The drinks were even better - we were all super impressed by the cocktail list (their signature drinks menu is completely unique to Le Bon Ton and you won’t find anything like it anywhere else in Melb!). Some highlights were the crab cakes, cheeseburger, cornbread, sausages, and the chilli cheese fries. From the drinks we all absolutely loved the chicory dickory doo, le soleil, and friend of storme! Of course, to top it all off, the staff were a delight! Everything came out super quick and we were treated like VIP guests despite the restaurant being pretty full :) 1000000% recommend
