I arrived at about 1 am due to a late-night arrival flight. Have to press the bell at the front door so the front desk staff can see you and let you in. Check-in was smooth. A high-floor room was provided due to a platinum member. The room was large. However, it was old, and the decoration was like the 90s. The air-con wasn't powerful enough. I set it at 18 °C and still feel very hot. The toilet was a very old-style one, but it was clean. Just the shower from the bath tube wan't strong enough. Just stay for a short night , no complaint. Breakfast was a very simple one, so don't expect too much.(video provided for the buffet breakfast ) The staff was very polite and provided good service. They offered late check-out for a platinum member.
I had a really lovely stay at this hotel. The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly, and always accommodating, they truly made me feel welcome specially Parht and James. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, making it easy to relax and enjoy the stay. Everything felt well looked after. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would be happy to stay here again.
Spacious room that’s well located to the city. Great value for money. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. I booked last minute - for a great rate and got upgraded to a balcony room. Easy check in and check out.
My advice to you unless you are desperate for a place to stay… do not even step foot into this place. Disclaimer: I have stayed in MANY hotels in my life and many of which have not been very glam.. but this was downright dangerously disgusting. After a long tiring flight went to go check into the hotel. First of all, saw they had underground parking.. was more like a goolag and we were driving a small car. As we were pulling into the car park, we saw clean towels and clean bedsheets in metal cages out in the open for everyone to see, god only knows what could be crawling around in that carpark. But anyway we still proceed to check in. Walked up to our room, walking around having a look… crumbs everywhere, dust everywhere, makeup marks on the walls, hair everywhere, random black marks on pillows and towels, mould in the bathrooms…. Cut. Dirty. Toenails. On. The. Floor… After heading down to reception and being like “hey guys hate to do this but uhhhhh can you please refund us because our room is filthy” I am not about to get bitten by some random bugs whilst I sleep thank you. They offered a room upgrade. Was no better. There was a strip eyelash plastered to the floor of the balcony with thick black hair all over the floor. Our upgraded room also started to smell like mariju****… even though it is a non smoking hotel. Headed down to reception for the second time because again I will not be staying in a hotel that is filthy. Proceeded to ask for a refund and got the response of “oh was the upgrade not good enough for ya”. If any person was offered something they did not pay for… they would be polite and respectful about it. Ended up leaving and booking at the doubletree by Hilton where I was greeted with warm cookies.
We stayed at the Mercure Perth On Hay in 2024. I emailed a complaint through in 2024 regarding our stay and after cleaning out my emails found that they still never replied and its 2026. The email reply stated they would reply in 2 business days. The complaint was as follows: Dear Guest Relations Manager, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with my recent stay at the Mercure Hotel on Hay, from 22nd to the 23rd. We stayed in room 903 and 904. While the lobby was lovely and well renovated, and the staff were courteous and professional, several aspects of my room and the overall environment were far below the standards I expected from a 4-star hotel. Firstly, I was shocked to discover that the door to my room (904) did not have a door latch on it, which raised serious concerns about safety and security. Additionally, the room was very dusty, and the sheets were unclean. There was no proper duvet cover; instead, a large sheet was being used as a makeshift cover. The lamps in the room were very old and all crooked, contributing to an overall feeling of neglect. The room and the entire floor had a pervasive smell of smoke, which was very unpleasant and not something I expected from a non-smoking room (the room honestly smelt like someone had been smoking in it for years). Furthermore, the lack of sunlight and the dingy appearance of the floor added to a very uninviting atmosphere. The elevator was also in poor condition, with gross handprints that clearly needed cleaning. The bathroom was another area of concern; it was dingy and grotty, and one of the shower taps had visible erosion around it, indicating a lack of proper maintenance. I hope that these issues can be addressed promptly to prevent other guests from having a similar experience. The lovely lobby and excellent staff were the only redeeming features of my stay, and it is my hope that these positive aspects can be reflected throughout the entire building in the future. Sincerely, xyz.
