We stayed at this hotel for four nights and overall had a very pleasant experience. The bed was extremely comfortable and the pillows were great as well, which made it very easy to rest after a long day. The room had a good amount of space and included everything we needed for our stay. Housekeeping came every day to clean the room, which we appreciated. However, on the second day we found a vape and a clothing tag under the bed, which looked like it had been left from a previous guest. Aside from that, the staff were very friendly and helpful during our stay. The location is also very convenient. There is a bus station right in front of the hotel, and nearby you can find McDonald's, KFC and Woolworths. Behind the hotel, about one block away, there is also a tram station that takes you to Westfield Parramatta in only two tram stops. The pool and tennis court are nice amenities, although they could probably use a bit of renovation. Overall we had a comfortable stay and enjoyed the location and service.

We stayed 3 nights over Australia Day weekend at Mercure Parramatta and honestly it was a huge disappointment. I booked because I’m an Accor member and I’ve stayed at many Mercure hotels in Australia and overseas, but this one was pathetic in service and customer care. First of all, the beds were extremely uncomfortable — you can literally feel the springs in the mattress. It felt like sleeping on something worn out and cheap. On top of that, the air-conditioning control didn’t work, so even in the hot Sydney weather the room stayed uncomfortable and we were sweating. You can’t even control the room temperature properly, which is basic for any hotel. Also, no proper toiletries provided. For a Mercure, this is not acceptable. The worst part was the customer service at reception. The morning shift receptionist (Islander lady) was incredibly rude, dismissive and acted like she was doing us a favour just by answering questions. It completely ruined the mood of our holiday. Hospitality means being respectful and helpful — and this was the opposite. Then at checkout we got hit with a $75 parking charge ($25 per day) which was never clearly mentioned when booking or during check-in. There’s even a boom gate when entering, which makes it feel like parking is included or already managed — so you only find out at the end when it’s too late. The parking area is also tight and poorly designed, and it feels like your car will get scratched. Overall this hotel needs serious improvement — mattresses, aircon, basic amenities and staff training. This was not the Mercure standard I expect and I definitely won’t be staying here again. Accor/Mercure management should look into this property properly because something is clearly wrong.

I’d like to pass on my appreciation to the blonde lady with glasses who served me and my partner around 9am today on29 March at the cafe (outside the restaurant). Even though she was clearly very busy, she approached us with such friendliness and genuine warmth. Her service made us feel welcome straight away, and the coffee she made was absolutely amazing — easily one of the best we’ve had in a long time. Please let her know that her kindness and professionalism truly made my morning. She turned a simple coffee run into a great start to the day.

The location is good — unfortunately, that’s the only positive thing I can say about this hotel. I stayed here for work and will not be returning. The rooms are outdated and did not feel properly cleaned. Overall presentation and maintenance were quite disappointing. The buffet breakfast was extremely limited. It felt more like a “fruit buffet” than a proper breakfast — there was very little variety beyond fruit, which was underwhelming. The most frustrating part of the stay was trying to contact reception. Each time I called, I was placed in a phone queue and had to wait, which felt more like calling a corporate office than speaking to a hotel front desk. When I went down in person to ask about it, I was simply told they were busy. For the price charged, the experience does not justify the cost. I’m confident there are other nearby hotels that offer much better service and value for money.

The beds are very comfortable, but the hotel is quite dated and in need of a paint. Adjusting the air conditioning made no difference to room temperature and it was uncomfortably hot overnight. The room had no information booklet in it. No wifi details provided, or info on hotel facilities. TV had strange remote & wasn't intuitive to find channels. Water temperature dangerously hot. Shower had no water pressure, and unclean / mouldy shower floor. Toilet paper holder was broken and wouldn't hold roll properly. Staff in restaurant were not very attentive, however meal was lovely. Location was very good. Not good value given shortcomings in the room. Fix the aircon, in room information & bathroom facilities!
