Reviews for Pullman Sydney Hyde Park

I recently stayed at the Pullman on Hyde Park in Sydney and had a wonderful experience. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and in such a perfect location overlooking Hyde Park. From the moment I arrived, the reception team made me feel so welcomed. The staff member who checked me in (she mentioned she was still in training) was absolutely brilliant — incredibly kind, helpful, and patient. She set the tone for a great stay. The room was spacious and had everything I needed. The only minor issue was that the bathtub tap wasn’t working properly, but it didn’t take away from the overall comfort of the room. Overall, I had a great stay and would definitely return. The warm service and beautiful location really made it special. Highly recommend!

We spent two nights at the Pullman and overall had a pleasant experience. Upon check-in, we were happy to receive a room upgrade, which gave us extra room to accomodate our daughter staying on the second night only. The staff member at check in was lovely and great Service throughout our stay. Our bags were taken to our room so quickly, they arrived before we got into the room from parking the car, I was impressed! The beds were great, the linens were clean, and housekeeping did a great job checking if we needed anything each day. The pool area was another highlight; beautifully designed, relaxing, and well-maintained & gorgeous view. We spent a good amount of time there lounging and swimming. The only downside at the pool was the limited food service; we couldn’t order any snacks or meals poolside, and the bar only offered beer and seltzers. It would have been nice to have light bites or non-alcoholic options available without having to leave the hotel. Service throughout the hotel was generally very good, staff were friendly, responsive, and professional. When we encountered issues, they addressed them promptly. The main negatives centered on the bathroom amenities and design. The in-room toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and soap) were provided in wall-mounted dispensers, but they simply didn’t work properly. Several were stuck, on arrival, so we had to call housekeeping for replacements. They sent new ones quickly, which was appreciated, but even the replacements frequently jammed or dispensed very little product, making showering more frustrating than it should be. Additionally, the bath/shower combo had poor design elements: the floor of the bath creaked noticeably every time you stepped on it, which felt unstable, and the exhaust fan in the bathroom wasn't working. After every shower, the room became extremely steamy/foggy. We ended up having to use the hairdryer to defog the mirror just to get ready to go out, an unnecessary hassle. The wifi network we connected to didn't work. I didn't bother looking into it as we just used our 5G data. Despite these annoyances (mostly confined to the bathroom), we enjoyed our short stay thanks to the comfortable room, lovely pool, great location and attentive service. We will likely return.

I stayed at this hotel over the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I am an Accor+ Platinum member. My room was very spacious including the bathroom. Afternoon canapés and morning breakfast were excellent. The breakfast spread wasn't large but it had all the breaky essentials, and were of high quality including fresh barista coffee. Service was super friendly from the check-in reception, room service to dining. The hotel is conveniently located with plenty of cafes and restaurants in close vicinity.

This hotel was in a perfect spot, but it was far from perfect. Although it is supposed to be a 5 Star hotel, I have been to 3-star Hotels that are way better than this. When we arrived to check in, no concierge was at the door to welcome us. I found this off-putting, as there should be a concierge service no matter what time one arrives. The toilets downstairs did not have toilet roll holders and were not very clean. Our room was okay, but it had not been cleaned. Hair on the bathroom wall tiles, which we discovered when showering on Saturday afternoon, stayed there even after a supposed clean after two nights' stay. Other items remained on the floor, and the gown I had left on the bed was just thrown onto the chair (see picture). On our second day, while we were chatting in the room, a giant cockroach ran across the room from under the bed (see picture). The lifts were under construction, so going to and from rooms took forever. Breakfast needs a change; it was mediocre and not worth the $40 we had to pay on our first day. The Gym needs work. The treadmill squeaked and groaned the whole 30 minutes I was on it, and there were not enough weights or attachments. The only significant things were the swimming pool and the sauna. It was a pity the Spa was under renovation. Oh, and the lady who checked us in was warm and welcoming. We will not stay here again and will tell all our friends and business partners about our experience.

Check in & luggage assistance was amazing. Especially from Makenzie and Brendan. Being a wheelchair user, as soon as they saw me they went above board to assist me. 5 out of 5 stars. The only complaints I have is with the size of the room. it was not very accommodating for a wheelchair and a hoist and the extra stretcher bed I needed for my support worker because, the main bed did not split into two single beds. we had to rearrange all the furniture just to make room for it to work. You need to have a accessible room with two single beds, for those of us who bring support workers and can't share with the one bed. The bathroom was awesome. Also need to mention the restaurant and bar are not accessible by wheelchair without the use of a plastic foldable ramp. that has no edges on it. It is a little dangerous to drive up and down. Even though the staff were more than happy to assist with me using it. A new one would be better or something permanent in future plans. Thanks.
