Beautiful place, super friendly and helpful staff. The dinner was excellent. Very quick service with the shuttle. Nice, quiet and private beach. Great views on the harbour. Lots of history. Room was basic but had good facilities. I would have preferred a shower. The bathtub without a hand-held shower head was a bit dangerous and slippery with no handle to hold on... What about having pocket spring mattresses for more comfort? Dinner at Boilers was excellent and we will come back for that!

Staff were lovely and polite. Enjoyed the minibus service in the facility which was very useful. However, the shuttle service to Manly was either far too early for dinner in the City or too late! The private beach was gorgeous and we enjoyed a peaceful swim there. The breakfast was delicious, but we felt a little rushed as we had slept in and when we arrived we were told immediately that they would be packing up in ten minutes. Thankfully several other people arrived, so they did not pack up until we had all finished. Nonetheless, it was not a very relaxing experience. We were not informed until we got there that our bathroom facility was outside our room, along a verandah and around the corner. Robes should have been provided but were not until we rang and asked for them. Also, there was no water source available in the room, therefore at least a jug or bottle of water should have been provided for the kettle and a drink in the middle of the night, if required. We were grateful that it was not a typical hot summer's day and night as there were no screens on the doors, nor was there any air conditioning, and is was quite warm, so the rooms were stuffy. And no windows, per se, that we could open to get some air circulating, so we were very disappointed in that. However, despite the inconveniences, we loved the location and historical significance of Q Station and would happily visit the facility again for the day, but probably wouldn't stay overnight again.

Absolutely incredible stay! I spent two nights here with friends and it was such a special experience. The haunted ghost tour was so much fun and definitely a highlight, spooky in the best way! The rest of the time we explored the beautiful grounds and relaxed on the private beach which was stunning and so peaceful. I honestly loved every second of our stay and didn’t want to leave. I would 100% recommend this place to absolutely anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable getaway

Stunning location with views of the harbour as we stepped outside our room. Would highly recommend the ghost tours they run on the sight as well as they are so much fun and well worth the money. Our room was beautiful and had a great bathtub. The service from all staff was fantastic and always fast to respond to any needs including running the shuttle service whenever we needed to travel.

Accommodation is heritage listed converted rooms. Inherently dated in nature, but clean and tidy and nicely furnished. We stayed in isolation huts which were a short walk down to the beach. Views from the shared common sitting area were amazing, as were the views from the onsite cafe, but no direct views from the accommodation itself. The accommodation is isolated from reception, with access via a shuttle bus. Whilst the shuttle is convenient, for short stays the wait may eat into your time. Suggest bringing some supplies like snacks, water etc. A suggestion for improvement would be better supplies in the accommodation fridges; we had no cold water in the room, and tea/coffee needed replacing and were a bit old. We enjoyed our breakfast at the Wharf cafe, coffee was good and food was lovely. drinks at the Engine room was also great with the live music for a while on Friday afternoon; he was really good. We also ate dinner at the Boilerhouse; experience was nice, a lovely bottle of wine, but some meals like the Grilled octopus and the sirloin were overcooked, which was disappointing given the cost and the nature of the restaurant. The snapper was beautiful. The flavours were really lovely, but we expected the steak and the octopus to be much better cooked. We provided this feedback as we left, but we’re not given any response by the staff which was also a shame.
